Why Is Sage Cattabriga getting a pro model?

Sage is AHHHVIOUSLY getting a promodel that has skittles on them cuz his munchies just weren't being satisfied by previous scratch models.
 
you kids need to take a step back from your tanner hall, and your sammy c for a second and look at some differnt skiers that didnt make their fame in the park. (Im not down talking these guys, i have mad respect so dont be hating) There are plenty of skiers out their like sage or the late doug coombs that go out and ride the big lines and the steep pitchs every day instead of sliding rails. Go watch a tgr movie and i garantie you will see sage. Again im not down talking riders like tanner, sammy, dumont or anything like that, but there is onther forms of skiing out there and you guys need to check it out, I garentie you will like what you see
 
The simple fact alone that 5 years in a row sage has been a contender and has gone out and put the EFFORT in to get dope shots makes him deserve a pro model.

Not to mention that he learned double front flips first try on film on pyramid gap.

Not to mention he was one of 3 people to SWITCH 5 Pyramid EVER and he did it BEFORE TANNER (reference tangerine dream with pep fujas, tanner PYB).

Not to mention that he sessioned the fuck out of chads gap.

Oh not to mention that he also sessioned mary ellen gap, a 90+ foot gap in the backcountry of utah, over 20 MILES from any snowmobile access (which Im guessing you shit talkers don't even have a clue about what its like to be 20 miles from any help).

AND how many pros can you think of that have consistently hit cliffs over 60 feet in video parts and can do at least 3 of 4 sevens? He's one of a select few.

Last Sage had the vision to DO all of these things before you guys even thought of talking shit on them. I think he deserves any type of promodel he wants for years to come.

Another fun thing to point out, is of alll you shit talkers...all of you, how many of you have a first decent in ALASKA. Any of you? Ill bet Sage does.

You think Sage got where he is because he sat on NewSchoolers and talked shit on good skiers? No ill bet he didn't even have a computer to do that on.

Oh, and how many of you spent your first years of life living in a teepee? Sage did.

So while all of you sit around being stiff and pissed that a 'hippie' like sage is getting more recognition than you, he's gonna be rippin around in way deeper pow on his skittles skis loving every minute of his life.

The simple answer is "nothing".

There are no standout film segments. There are no standout lines. There are no standout still shots, and there are no memorable ANYTHING coming out of Sage catta-whatever and his skiing. Nothing at all, with the possible exception of his hair, and his multiple shitty segments in Anomaly, including the parts where he skis "lines" that are on the side of a fucking highway and acts like a douchebag in Japanese convenience stores.

Last time I checked, he was part of an AK trip that included Peter Olenick, far too many "jumps" and not nearly enough lines, and pizza delivered by helicopter in order to waste unused heli time. He might deserve a fucking slap to the face for that, but a pro model? Fuck no.

Pro model? For what? You might as well give me a pro model ski for being amazing at getting wasted and hitting on engaged 40 year old waitresses. Because if this pro model is any indication, being ridiculously good at skiing has nothing to do with getting your name on a ski.

This cheapens every other legitimate pro model currently being made. On the flipside, it's probably cheaper than having Rossi actually pay him through a real contract.

If Sage were a snowboarder, he'd NEVER get a goddamn pro model. Ever. He's the newschool equivalent of Chris Davenport and medium-mountain-shredding. And he says "bro" way too fucking much."

OH MY LORD I've never heard anyone be more off the mark in a ns rant. I actually cannot believe I'm reading some of the misguided comments in this thread hating on Sage. All you kids that were born without a brain need to realise that skiing is not just a fuckin handrail on an excuse for a mountain in mid west usa. Sage is without doubt one of the top 5 skiers in the world. He rips the same fucking lines as Jeremy Jones or Hugo Harrison whilst also being able to stomp the fuck out of switch cork 9 true tails on kickers most of you have only dreamt of being able to even straight air.

Frankly I'm appauled by the ignorance of some of the posters on this thread, especially ones with over 8000 posts. If you spent that much time wasting your life talking shit on ns, you should really know something about skiing you fucking morons.

yeah you must not be really into skiing. sage is one of the biggest backcountry names other than seth, and he does sick tricks too
 
i could not disagree with you more...in my opinion sage is the flowiest, smoothest skier to have ever lived...with the exception of pollard. and i have no idea what you're talking about "if you're the king of BC you need to do big spins" what the hell...i think you're getting BC mixed up with the park, its not all about tricks man..plus, sage does throw down some sick tricks, with insane style, big ass cork 3s, 7s over chads, off cliffs and booters...just watch his segment in anomaly...probly one of my favourite segments ever...ive often described sages skiing not as skiing but more as making love to the mountain...theres a shot in his seggy in anomaly that just plain blows my mind everytime i watch it... big smooth 3 off this weird stepdown thing, and there is no compression on the landing what so ever..it is the smoothest thing ive ever seen on skis

most of you have no idea how gnarley it is to hit a cliff over 30 feet on big gnarley terrain like that with no hesitation its sick to do that with no tricks but sage does 3s and 180s and even cork 7s in some sick areas sure hes not the best big mountain skier but hes up there he pioneered alot of the big gaps is in the media and derserves a pro model, this is starting a new trend in the ski market the more pro models the better . More money for athletes....
 
some people are just born to hate i guess...or are just oblivious to anything that happens in skiing besides the park and who can spin the most times
 
If you want to see people that do a ton of tricks off of cliffs and stuff watch Dana Flahr...he's a showy skier (amazing I have to say) but I don't think his actual skiing is on the level of sage's.

Sage is so smooth in both park and BC (tangerine dream, first segment in the movie, is amazing). He skis lines most of us only dream of having the balls to ski, and he stomps the shit out of almost everything he does.

Everyone before has pretty much covered it. He lives for skiing...it's about fucking time he got a pro model.
