Why is patience a virtue?

think about it. think about the deadly sin that it opposes. wrath. you're standing in line a grocery store watching some little old lady count change slow as can be, being impatient only makes you angry. just calm the fuck down, relax, have a little patience, and shit'll be just fine.

it's also the reason we practice things. you can't be in a hurry to be successful. you have to pay your dues. you cant step onto the ice and just magically become a pro hockey player, you can't sit at a table and conjure up a masterful work of art in minutes. it takes time and it takes patience.

i can't think of anything good that comes of rushing, other than to try and cover up the fact that you're running late (which is your own fucking fault in the first place). when you rush you forget things, you get mad, you get frustrated, flustered, you overlook details, probably end up being mouthy and rude, all sorts of negative shit.

Looks prettier.

I don't believe that old cliche that good things come

to those who wait. I think good things come to those who want something

so bad they can't sit still.- Ashton Kutcher

i like to think patience is a virtue, but this quote makes me think otherwise. like when it comes to meeting girls, patience is not a virtue unless you are a mangod

The saying patience is a virtue doesn't mean about life in general. Obviously you have to act, and do things, patience comes in when you can't do things.

k well then the obvious answer is that your only 2 options are patience or discomfort/stress. so patience is the right path.

kind of like the Stoics dog and cart analogy:
