oregon was founded as a racist utopia essentially, like they didnt let black people even move there for a long ass time. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oregon_black_exclusion_laws

LOL, I had to edit this post but you may end up with a few different answers.
Could be from the laws in the 1800's and the Oregon trail being a hwy for the pioneers and along with having Idaho and Utah being neighboring states.
Could be that there are a few volcanoes around that hold snow on them year around.
Could be that one has a solid connect for some blow.
The question is slightly open ended.
