LOL, I had to edit this post but you may end up with a few different answers.
Could be from the laws in the 1800's and the Oregon trail being a hwy for the pioneers and along with having Idaho and Utah being neighboring states.
Could be that there are a few volcanoes around that hold snow on them year around.
Could be that one has a solid connect for some blow.
The question is slightly open ended.
