Why is no one here talking about Whistler?

Biggest storm cycle since early season with low freezing levels, and people are talking abut park on the north shore mountains, WTF?
 
Hate to say it but I don't think anyone really uses the regional NS forums regularly anymore, not for 2-3 years (at least for the Whistler area) It's more about events, premiers, gear for sale etc. Try facebook or TGR for more TR/Conditions/Update style postings.
 
What's the deal, American long weekend (Mon= President's day) and college breaks? It's a long weekend in Alberta too, but I don't think it would be Christmas week busy, especially as destination visits are down this year (see WB Q1 earnings report).

Glad to hear people are stoked.

Nadia: yep I am on TGR, just was surprised at the lack of activity here. Nice pics on your blog, must be stoked to get the sleds out this weekend.
 
i think ubc break ends around the 21st. although there are uni's in ontario with a break during that week 20th-onwards. hence why i'm going. we shall see though.
 
Most of the Alberta schools have reading week beginning this weekend. Not that the group of people from that crowd will really make a whole lot of difference.

yea i don't think I have ever sent waterfall so many times in one day. The snow was amazing and the visibility was ever better
 
The resort is trashed but the backcountry was going off today, snow is setting up pretty well, didn't see any natural avy activity either other than a few isolated soft slabs.
 
i just had the best week of my life got first tracks on kaivers two days got waist deep fresh in franz trees (probably the best on the mountain) and sent airjordan the non pussy way and got first tracks on the couloir run or watever its called up peak ive never gone fatser in deep pow in my life

i realy hope another storm like that picks up it was truly life changing
