all the words "skis" are underlined in blue with a link, in the forums? does anyone else have this?
they link directly to skis.com
 
Hah yeah thats my bad!

We're using something called the "affiliate link encoder" where basically the idea is that if you're talking about a partner shop, it encodes it as a link and we make a percentage off of sales made through those links.

So if one of you were to say "Dude, did you check out that huge sale at Tramdock?" Theoretically it would encode the word tramdock, and if you clicked to check out the sale, we could make money.

I made the mistake of not filtering out the word skis, as I didn't think that it would do so many of them. :) I made the changes, but it will take about 45 minutes to propogate live. Sorry about that one, it was my bad!

i was just gonna make this thread, but thats a good idea, im sure youll make some bank off of SAC adn tramdock,ect...

That's kinda sick. Bishop, you should have it so that its only with web addresses though, because people can say backcountry or something without meaning the store. If you require the .com for automatic linkage, and then we wouldn't have to waste time with the hyperlink button...
 
not to be a hater but i find that to be SUPER DUPER DUPER lame. ads in what we post is wayyyyy too far in my opinion.
 
Lol... see your signature is straight up advertising... now we just make some money off the ads versus before it was just free. :)
