...there are still so many people in the Midwest with the "snowboarding is the best, skiing sucks" attitude. I heard that is dead everywhere else.
 
idk snowbaorders seemed a little sepearted, they are definatley not as tight knit as the skiers, no trains, no organization, rival crews
 
this may sound weird, but i think NS might be part of the reason. i mean, ive met some asshole freeskiers, but the majority that ive met and are on NS feel a camaraderie between other skiers and causes them to get along better as opposed to snowbaorders who have no site like ns
 
you are wrong. they are xxxtrixmix. thats replacing all the E's with X's making it that much more extream.
 
Well, at least at the big I-70 resorts people dont care anymore. Seems they all get along just fine, but if you spend a day at Welch seems like a lot of people are pissed at each other for no apparent reason, other than that they have something different strapped to their feet. I dont know if it is totally dead, but it should be. Assholes are assholes, doesnt matter whats strapped to their feet, and cool people can still go down the hill sideways.
 
i think they are just mad because they arent as cool as us and they cant speed up with poles to snake us. we be the ones snakin them, ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!
 
i definetly agree here, the majority of them don't seem like they are out to have fun, i think skiers are just straighter kids... it's science
 
doesnt surprise me - was that at hyland?

at wild, i think most of the snowboarders are learning their lessons - they know that most skiers there could own them at any time. of course, thats not how it used to be...
 
no its just the shitty boarders that think there better than everyone. cause some of my best friends are snowboarders who ride at hyland. those kids are all cool. they are there everyday. but its the kids who just come to prove something to everyone. not to have fun
 
going to tyrol i get the feeling there that most of the regulars know eachother as the season goes on, so it makes it harder for people to be seriously mad at eachother, but i guess at other big resorts where only groups know eacheather then the hate is so much easier to do to people you'll never see again, or that you don't have to deal with.
 
But in reply to the thread topic, it seems the regulars at Hyland are all chill. I went everyday and I'm now good friends with the regular snowboarders. It's not a website that bonds you, it's that inner passion for something you love. In our case skiing, for them it's boarding, we just fit together i guess.
 
i dont want to stereotype all snowboarders, but i agree, a lot of them do it to look "cool," cuz it's bad ass to snowboard. but from what i've seen, most of the better ones aren't the assholes. like it was said before snowboarding is X-treme.

p.s. - what's with the tight pants they all wear now??? do they not know they're shopping in the wrong department?
 
Theres a reason. Its all the trendy ass pricks that do it cause their friends do, or cause Shaun White does. They follow more trends then any other demographic I can think of, except those toward terrain park safety (i.e. get the fuck off the landings) and being more chill on the hill. Most of those kids are under 18, cocky assholes who think they are better than anybody on skis just because skis are "gay". Thing is, there are skiers right in with that demographic, but 95% go down sideways. Now I dont hate snowboarders, I hate assholes, like that kind, and if they are on skis I hate them more for giving us a bad name too.
 
jake you forgot about the tall tees and the tight pants. its like they are stuck in the middle or something.
 
I've been a snowboarder longer than a skier. lemme try and give you a snowboarders point of view. Not all snowboarders are the same, but i know a lot of them think skiers copy their style and wanna be like them. I think some of them think skiing is just a dumb fad that will die out sooner or later. But I also know alot of snowboarders who could care less what other people ride. When i was a shredder I always thought skiing looked super dope and hard. I think theres one thing we can all agree on, snowblades are dumb.
 
i snowboard and i hangout with all skiers. i think skiing is the shit but i just like snowbaording more. i think that the skiers are gay thing has gone done a lot. the only place where i see it a lot is powder ridge, which happens to be my home bump but you know whatever. it will be gone soon
 
Most of the time it happens its from snowboarding wannabees who just sit on their asses on the hill. Most of the good snowboarders dont hate on skiing.
 
nope you are wrong. im sorry. and dewds you should just all ride at marquette, cuz everyone is sweet and were all friendly shredders. also yes, i did get hit with a ski cuz the guy was about to fight drew, so i stabbed him with my pole, which led to a brawl and then a battle.
 
yeah some kids at welch can be dicks but i know alot of kids and they are way nice to many kids just dont even give skiing a chance and think they are the shit
 
I agree with Ty, snowblades are way too much fun.

the worst part is that some snowboarders give more respect to snowbladers than twintip skiers

but i ski with snowboarders all the time and i dont get much crap
