Why is Apple so much cooler than everyone else?

Apple has been around for so long, it seems to me that the other companies would try to catch up. I know the internal things might be better on a PC, but just the way my Powerbook is made, no other PC laptops even compare in construction. Has anyone else noticed this, Apple spends alot more time making little details on the physical laptop.

when it comes to laptops i think less is more. i've been using some laptops at work and they are twice as thick as my MBP. they also have those media buttons on the front (thank you, remote). sleek, simple, it's where it's at.
