WHY is all outerwear shipping so late?

Why late november? i have been loking round and im going to need a jaket and pants befre then cause i leave soon after that and i live in Australia, so it could take a few weeks afte that???? please help +K
 
well last year when i ordered my saga it arrived in mid january then i got it shipped to me overseas
and i guess the companys need more time to get their shit together?
 
Yeah, I agree. I usually want to have everything set up by Thanksgiving at the latest. Even some places in the east are opening in early November, why do companies ship so late?
 
smaller the company, you order less material, which means you don't get priority at the factories, means last on the list to get your stuff made, last to then ship.
 
Most outerwear is made in China. Many of the low tech industries in China are starting to experience labor shortages as the labor force shifts towards better paying high tech jobs. The infrastructure in China has also not kept up with industrial growth, i.e., not enough electricity.
 
I think its a bunch of bullshit. Maybe if you started earlier you would be able to ship it earlier. It's not a hard concept. If you are the last on the list for shipping because it is low priority, why the fuck don't you just do it earlier?
 
Companies show off their line at SIA (January) and can't send orders to factories until they have orders from shops in (February/March). They can't just make clothing and hope people buy it, they need to have orders from shops so banks give them the money to produce everything.

Its also way more complicated than that, but that's the easiest answer.

 
I buy most of my stuff local. Rime knits hat, Phar north hoody, line step ups(special order from local dearler), Go pro(local shop) I try and get everything from my town or State (MT). Although your statement just sounded stupid you cant buy everything local Saga,Ldc, and whatnot.
 
yeah smaller companys dont have as much shit, and alot of people are trying to get the same or other items from theere company but yeah just try to find somthing warm that will last until it arrives
 
If you really really need something for the start of the season, buy it in person off the shelf. You have to decide if it's worth the risk of waiting until January to save a few bucks or get exactly what you want, versus walk into a shop and have it immediately. This is especially true with smaller co's that are manufacture based on pre-orders.
 
I work at a shop and our outerwear came very late as well. Apparently it is due to the flooding in pakistan where most of the ski companies get their fabric from. That is why they will be behind.
