Why Iran must be stopped.

Especially when you have the only country in the world thats used them against civilians breathing down you neck and threatening you? Nukes are self defense nowadays, and I'll maintain that there are a lot of more present nuclear dangers than Iraq and Iran.
 
Except building nuclear missiles from scratch is a fool's errand in this day and age. You can't justify making them for personal safety because a superpower WILL take notice and WILL intervene. Better to fly under the radar than be everyone's target.
 
North Korea won't last. Think about it, pre-missile project it was just another petty despotic regime, a dime a dozen in today's world. Now, they're under the international spotlight for not only rampantly abusing their own citizens, but being really really fucking creepy (I'm talking about you Kim Jong Il). Eventually, things will come to fruition and North Korea will get smacked back down. You can't get away with shit like firing missiles over Japan forever.
 
They've been isolationist and despotic for years, and yeah, no sign of changing. However, they are real aggressors, with ICBM and nuclear capabilities. Problem is, nobody is going to do anything about it while we're engaged in Iraq and Afghanistan, and certainly not if we go into a needless war with Iran.
 
Yep, I agree completely. It was so funny in the lead up to the Iraq War. North Korea was basically yelling as loud as they could about how they were building nukes to fight off their oppressors (us) while Iraq kept vehemently (and truthfully) denying everything. Interesting how that works out...
 
I am seeing the bigger picture...and I totally agree in alternative forms of fuel (jst not ethanol)...what I'm saying is that we are loosening our grips on MiddleEast oil...through the ocean South Dakota and North Dakota

mabye if we hadn't blown up their neighbor(iraq)'s water purification plants, milk factories, and destroyed their government thereby upsetting the delicate balance they were in they wouldn't be mad.

the closest thing the us could relate to this is that if somebody started raping canada and destroying all of their food sources, but the US is enough of an asshat to not care.
 
i dont really like my neighbors either, but if they get the shit kicked out of them by an outside power, it kind of makes you fucking hate that outside power, and be a little worried about if your next on the list

I don't care if you dont support the war in iraq, I don't care if you dont like what our troops are doing, I don't care if you believe the moon landing was faked. But these guys are laying their lives on their line, regardless of socio-economic background I think you owe them respect. You don't have to respect the mission, but respect the men who are sadly fighting a war against Islam in the middle east, so you don't have to experience the war in the United States of America.
 
For the people that told this kid that he should pick up a gun and fight, shut the fuck up. Just because you support a war, does not mean you need to fight in it. There are plenty of Americans who have willingly signed up for the army knowing they might have to fight in a war. And I, as well as JeffersonDavis (I believe), support these American troops for their courage. But to tell this kid he needs to pick up a gun and go fight in order to keep his opinion is ridiculous.

He has proven that he is extremely well educated on the subject, and has formed an opinion that would be the best for everyone. He realizes that more lives will be saved if we take action know, rather than wait for Iran to attack us. So yea, continue to critize one of the few people that actually give a shit about the future and are willing to take action.

by not like each other i mean fought a war against each other... not like Americans dont like mexicans. I think they would be more worried about the US invading them simply because they are devloping nuclear capabilities. Iran just wants recognition and respect and these days the only way to do that is to get nuclear weapons capabilities. No one is stupid enough to use them due to MAD, If Iran fired one nuke then their entire country would be destroyed before they knew it. They aren't as much as a threat as hyped up to be and will continue to be less of a threat in the years to come.

It's not THAT rediculous to expect one who would support the war, to support it strongly enough to make that sacrifice to pick up a gun and join the war.

Dont you think they have reason to want the US out? It brought war to the middle east, and has been meddling in affairs for 30 years. Oh yeah, America funded various nations to go to war with Iran. Oh yeah, they have a military presence in two countries. Oh yeah, they are business partners with Saudi Arabia, which are competitors with Iran. There couldnt be any reason for them to want the US out of THEIR OWN LAND. Its not like hes advocating an invasion of the US. Its not like the citizenry will be affected. What can we expect when we send our military into someone elses home, on false pretenses.
 
You guys havent mentioned Russia? They still have functioning mobile missle trucks with ICBM's. And Russia and China just joined together against the American economic powers...
