Why, in America, is it a big deal to graduate from highschool?

it's blown out of proportion because americans like to celebrate milestones, that's why. Fuckin' kindergarten graduation, 5th grade graduation, middle school graduation, highschool graduation...it's not like you actually have to try to graduate...honestly, how many of you prepared and studied regularly in HS?...
