Why I hate the East Coast.

Well all of you skiers in the west are enjoying your early season with lots of snow, out East we have none all. No snow has fallen all the hills that were suppose to open this week in my area are pushing it back again for the second time. Now the earliest I may ski is December 5th and with all the upcoming rain the arena snow is depleting. I just needed to get that out... I envy all the skiers in the west right now. It's so much better East Coast = Cold Temperatures , Very little snow and even on a good year it still doesn't top an average season out west. Just needed to show my hate for where I live.

we have cold weather heading towards DC on the 2nd. then it will take at least a week for my home hills to open.

i am looking at about 3 weeks...

i dunno bro. east coast is DEFINANTLY not better then west coast. but if you think about it, we breed tougher skiers that can still keep up with western skiers even though we dont have as long of a season or as much snow.

Either you can bitch about not having snow and not being able to ski or move out west. Or you can sack up and be like Andy Parry and live on the East Coast and make the most of it by hitting rails just about every day of the year.

yeah dude, i'm an upstate Ney Yorker...not supposed to snow here until the 3rd. i can't wait until the season though!

i just started going to college in colorado

it fucking rocks, ive had 8 days of skiing so far and skiied powder so deep i got facials...

the cold and snow is coming tons of places are saying dec 5 thats only in 10 DAYS wait it out....the season will start and stay theyre saying a cold dec.

DONT EVEN COMPLAIN!!!!! try living out in midwest. its soo much harder for us. shitty conditions. hills are dirt tiny. and barely anyone even knows we exist. Ski for the people the atmosphere and the love. not aboutt conditions and terrain. we may not have everything the west has but i bet our hearts our bigger. no offense i still love the west!

humans... always obsessed with the now, and so impatient. do you not remember a time when the east coast got snow before the west? or times when the season came even later than when it will come this year?

so forgetful of times past, and always assuming about the future, being disappointed when it doesn't meet false expectations.

the snow shall fall, you will ski, and all your angst will go away.

with that being said, i've been jibbing, skiing pow, and hitting jumps into pow pow for, oh, two weeks now? maybe long.

oh snap!

I hear that... looks like it might be time to dig out some turf and make some back yard jibs... or maybe they'll come out with some new high tech snow that can be made at +20*C so we can ski the east all year round

well i still remember three years ago when it was like January 5 before blue really got running and that turned into a pretty sick winter even though it was hella late. I'm still optimistic....

so happens that I too live on the east coast.

coming from colorado, where I spent 5 of the best years of my life skiing every weekend of the season, this no snow no temp drop bullshit really is starting to piss me off. It is bad enough with the mountain blue balling us another two weeks(snowshoe was supposed to open the 25th), but then we have to see how much you guys are getting dumped on.

I am completely stoked for everyone out west to be getting snow, not hating on that at all. Just hating on how motha nature is not spreadin the love. I will love it when I am finally able to put skis on but for now fuck this coast, share the wealth you stupid green bitch!!!

UP-STH8 REPRESENTI agree though with the point that eastern skiers are tougher. The season is short, but if you ride every day and night, its not much shorter than a west coast season

what this guy said. I'm glad I grew up skiing on the east coast. this way, when I finally make it out west and get to ski waste deep powder on the regular and don't have to deal with shitloads of ice and freezing cold temperatures I'll know exactly how good I have it. Now i'm going to go eat a slice of chocolate cake.

same, i was furiously checking it everyday about two weeks ago and gave up, not having checked it since then. i dont even care anymore.

Go outside and enjoy the warm weather and have some faith. Remember last year? We got all this snow early season and then got skunked (aside from one good snow fall at Jay).
Be patient young stallions. It's coming. Have faith.

this time last year i was getting face shots at jay. now im skiing a single groomer at snowbird. weird how that works. im ready for some snow too.

^hes pro. i respect that. but its really hard. god, i want to snow so hard. and its so hard to listen to all these westerners make threads about how cool they are!!!!

is it really going to snow this weekend in VT?

I skied chocolate milkshake snow at killington last weekend too. I'm ready for one nostalgic day back east with a little snow before I go to UTAH.

Nice show, but Peter Gabriel? Really?

Kinda sympathise with you East Coast North Americans and those in the midwest, you make it sound like Australia without the cold! pray for snow
