Why I hate skiing (loon, NH on 12/17)

ok, many of you newbies may think im some nobody snowboarder here to trash skiers for fun... Im not.

I love skiing and its subculture. I know this has been writen before, but I had my own expirience today and i never realized the importance until today.

Today I was riding at loon, something i rarely do as i instruct at a diff mountain. But, i just got home from college, and i hadnt skiied until today. Well, my brother and i saw some friends of ous sessioning the rails. We ended up hiking the end box for a few minutes. Well, i was waiting at the bottom of the long box for my brother, and some kid slid the box and rode down to his friend.

Did you see my STEEZE!!! with his legs straight he proceeds to look like he's taking it up his butt, while he grabed his boots. thats not steeze if you have to emphasis it and talk about it, steeze involves your attitude. get over yourself, your steeze sucks

he was wearing a white capix helmet, and i think his binding was painted pink. i also think they wear wearing armadas.

anyhow, my brother just learned to jib. i saw him come off the box, and he landed it. i tapped my poles together twice and gave him props. all the sudden, the proclologist steeze master and his friends start screaming 'sup yeah, sup! sup, sup! yeah' all while banging his poles together furiously. i almost went over to chew him out, but trailer trash wannabes like that arent worth my ski time.

all i want to say is that the day im not allowed to give my brother props the one time ive seen him pull a slide is the day i quit skiing

ill be you those 2 guys are on this site, you know what guys, your steeze looks ridiculous and your attitude is what will give us a bad name.

i give props to those kids i feel deserve it. and guys like you are giving us a bad name. advice, steeze is less important than being able to do the trick.

please, stop skiing, youre there to look good an be cool. ive been in the game longer than you, ive been around more than you, and in skiing, being a jerk is not cool.

same thing happened to me exept..

my little 8 year old brother was just learning 180's today. he was trying really hard. we were sessioning this jump under the lift. He goes off and gets the rotation but doesnt quite land it. these kids start luaghing at him screaming he sucks, and shit. anyway my brother was so ashamed of himself that he didnt ski for the rest of the day.

yah i saw this kid, and immediately lost all respect for him. this is cuz he rode his armadas over six ft of pavement, it would have been so easy to take them off, but instead he trashes his skis cuz he knows his mommy will buy him some more. every mountain does have these kinds of kids. Today was the 2nd day my home mountain was open (West Mountain) and these little kids built a jump because there is no park. they we're doing little 180's and some were doing 3's until these high school kids came over and one of them elbow dropped the jump into pieces. Pissed me off a great deal because these little shit bags suck at skiing themselves and had nothing better to do that day than to wreck a jump. They too had the latest and greatest ski gear as well. Not that you can hold that against people but usually the kids that have the newest shit with the latest trends are the ones that acutally suck the most and talk the most shit.

Damn, when are they going to learn that skiing is just for fun and is not a competition. Our ski team does that whole cheering each other on thing like last year when me and 3 others on our team learned 360's. Sure they looked like hell but who cares it was good times and as long as it is fun why should anyone bring down another fellow snow lover.

wow, this is a hate fest... really, this is probably just a big misunderstanding. Although you got a bad impression of them, the martinis aren't assholes. In fact, I pretty much started newschool skiing two winters ago at cannon, and even though I was a racer on borrowed twintips with heinous pencil steez, they never gave me any shit for it.
