Why I hate my mountain..

so, my mountain is pretty fuckin gay... sun peaks resort.. yea . they dont give us money for they park, they wont allow companies to sponsor our park, and they wont have comps for skiing... last year we held the last stop of the snowboard comp series " so you look good" .

and at our mountain skiers definetely are the prodominant force in the park.. O yea, and we only have 2 paid park staff and over 25 features, and myself being one of those paid positions, I am so hella pissed at the corporation. Sun Peaks does hold its own little park jams, but it is run by the marketing department with accepting input from us, the peeps in the park... and what the market guys think up is probably the gayest jams of all time. they call them the sun peaks park wars were they expect people to come to the green park and ride the tiny jumps and pinner rails to earn " Jedi points" wtf is that shit.... hahaha and they get like the lacky marketing assistents to stand around and give out these stupid little peices of paper with numbers on them for how hard the little kids throw down on the stupid little features.. so fuckin lame... Sun peaks needs to get away from the family oreinted shit and give us what we have been beggin for for years
 
My mountain is about the same....except we have no paid park staff, they just let the ski school keep it up, unpaid.....we try our best, but when they only give us an hour a day to work on it, we cant cover everything
 
it has a gay name, make it like sin peaks or something(quoted by someone else in the interior forums)

its still better then the place i go to. I go to a private hill in ontario and the park sucks and all they care about is racing. We only had 2 jumps last year both around 15-25 feet and shitty rails.
 
hold your own comps, fuck the owners. just advertise a comp all around the place and people will show...then have it with donated supplies, whatever u can get...once your owners see how big it was maybe they will put some money into it?
 
yea and its not like their gonna kick you out for havin your own comp. after all, it is bringing income to the mountain
 
ya but that park isnt bad at all. the stuff they have are more creative than grouse and we have like 15 (?) park staff.
 
I flew all the way from australia to ski sun peaks. The park isnt that bad and you guys have the best mountain ever. I had never skied such deep snow and it snowed like ever night i was there.

So be grateful with what you have
 
i agree    the same thing is happening at big white, but to a lesser extent.     management needs to step up and create something worthy of all the sponsor money and advertising they do.
 
sun peaks has BC so you can go build booters and stuff

try skiing grouse who cant make a table to save their life has 45 min waits to get on the lift and has 4 foot divets in the landing of every feature

oh yea and we have almost no BC and awful snow
 
yeah my mountain is the same, it sucks. they don't know what to do with the groomers in the park.
 
my mountains good for wat it is. ski sundown is a small mountain but its pretty good, except for when the park is shear ice.
 
alpine man. Its worse atleast craigleith has friggen lips on their jumps! I'd rather go to craigleith anyday.
 
my hill does the same thing. but its gonna be better than ever next year cuz im gonna be part of the ski school and i set up rails and stuff last year but sometimes they got mad at me and made me put them back
 
hes just complaining cuz he has no jedi points. The worst thing is these marketing assholes probably think they are so smart and clever for creating their little comp, the whole entire thing is a gimmick. But yeah don't complain man, my hill has a shitload of park staff that work on our features although the features are complete crap and there are maybe 6-10 of them on a good day. And in that includes the 10 foot jump that has no landing, a 10 foot box, and our "big table" which is about 20 feet. Oh and no pow or bc, only 200 feet of vert.

but your resort is obviouslly better off and should invest more money into the parks.
 
yea, i guess, i shouldn't be complaining, alot of peeps on ns do have worse situations, and our park is pretty sick,, its just that sun peaks has so much potential, if they would just give us what we need, it could become something major... like we have fairly good cat drivers, except the ones who back into the rails and bend them and shit...

who has been to sun peaks and riden our park?
 
having ur own comp would be a good idea, except that they prob. won't let you cause of liability/insurance reasons.

also, the fact that you live in BC makes a terrain park a low priority for management.INTERIOR BC at that, why the fuck would you care about a jib park to begin with? the mountain is your terrain park. jibbers.
 
i ski at big mountain in mt.

our park crew gets paid but all they do is sit in there little hut and get baked.
 
yeah seriously in the southeastern untited states were stoked if place still has snow at the end of march. and the managment only cares about gapers
 
never ever ever ever ever ski at nashoba. ever. dont do it. even if you somehow bypass paying the $40 lift ticket, dont even do it. never take lessons or work their either. fuck.
