yeah i have racer friends, i make fun of them, they make fun of me. it's all good. same with snowboarders. i make fun of them too for taking so long to strap in at the top of the hill, but no serious rivalry there.

i was going to go to my HS race team but they didnt allow you in the park so i begged the snowboard club to let me in...they ride the park all day...and i got in...so much better then racers...

but ya i will never race and have never raced in my life...

not nearly as much as freestyle it gives u the best platform for being a freskier because it teaches u to jump and any mogul skier can out carve some assholer racer on fuckin straight skis while racers have there fuckin shape 140 slalome skis

 
I would bet that most people who hate racers have had a one or two bad experiences with racers, and therefore think they're all dicks. But you could have a bad experience with any type of skier or snowboarder, but to generalize like a lot of people do isn't right. I raced last year for my high school and the kids are mostly pretty cool, and they are also extremly talented skiers. Most of the really good racers are some of the most talented skiers you'll see on the mountain. A lot of them freeride too, just as a fun thing on the side.

lets see, i hate racers at my mountain.. because they are rich fucking snobs who have all the privelages, they get to budge in line, have a shortcut for the line, and talk as loud as they want in the line without getting yelled at... theyre fucking shitheads.. a kid picked a fight with me that was about 10 inches taller than me and about 4 years older because he budge in line right in front of me and i said 'get the fuck to the end..'the kid pushed me so i punched the fuck in the face and knocked his racing ass to the ground.. .then liftline people kicked me oot of the line... i do have racing friends but that doesnt mean i cant say racing is a gay sport.. or that i hate a lot of racers

this is what skiing will become:

eventually, less and less skiers will race, we will then get away from hating them, because only the good hardcore racers will still do it. then, freestyle will become to be more popular as time goes on, and we will eventually become bigger and more mainstream than snowboarding.

obviously alot of skiers will not liek the idea of becoming mainstream, but this cannot be stopped because all the shitty racers will start to freestyle ski because that is what is cool. I dont think we want all the snowboarders and racers to invade freestlye skiing but it is inevitable.

newschool skiing will then take over the entire world, and even oprah will newschool ski.

us, the youth are the ones shaping the future of skiing, what do you want it to become?

freestyle skiing isn't just starting its been around for a long time, i mean they had twin tips in like the 70's with the olin mark IV's or something so freestyle isn't taking over, but i think it will definetly kick snowboardings ass in a few years

racing provides a technical backround to their skiing, so they learn how to focus and train to do stuff. plus, they learn how to ski before trying stuff tn eh terrain park, unlike some people

before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. by then, it doesnt matter. your a mile away, and you have his shoes
 
my friend whose a racer brought me to tremblant with him once and his coach let me train with them (with my public enemys on) it pissed a bunch of ppl off it was so fun, and pritty damn boring too

there are actually some racers that are pretty solid in the park but i just can't stand some of their attitudes from my experiences which probably goes the same for most of you guys out there and which is why many racers get a bad rep cause they deserve it

the spandex suits are indeed gay, but the majority of the racers can probably ski better than you can, in regards to turning and steeper terrain. the majority of the pro big mtn skiers were racers

it'd be good for you morons who say you 'hate racers' to differentiate between racers as a group and the invidual racers who happen to fuck up your beloved park.

Oh and anyone who says racers suck: try it. You will get your fucking ass kicked. Just because you like freeskiing doesn't mean racing sucks. Sounds simple, but that's logic most 'haters' employ.

I'm norwegian, and somebody from the UK was here to race. We raced with them, and OHH... They were bad. Many of them just thinked on them self. They arranged a party on the evening. We thinked it would be a OK party.

5 boys from the UK was tryin to be very cool by changing bad music on an iPod, and the parents held a talk for many hours I think, oh, what boooooring!

BTW, I think jibbing is coolest, but racing is doing me such a better skier. Somebody is only thinkin at the racing and I think that have to be boring. But, they race very good then. It's that they will do.

I want to be a professional jibber, not a professional racer. I think that take your whole life.

-Im a mogulist, there is a rival thing between us.

-All they do is bomb down hills and hit people.

-They are rich fucking snobs, but some members of NS are like that.

-They always get in the way of everything

Yeah sure I do have a friend that is a racer coach, hes cool.But there are too many idiot racers around.
 
no, they won't leave us alone. every day,when racing practice gets out at sugarbush, a huge herd of kids in spandex ski down the park, and just cut everyone off, doing mogul tricks off the small jumps. they are assholes

First off - Kids who join a mnt race program are not automatically "racers" - just like you monkeys who join a "freeride team" are not automatically newschool rockstars.

Pay to ski programs are just that - LESSONS

Parents send their kids into structured programs - racing/freestyle so they can be babysitted on the hill while mom and dad sip chai lattes at the mid-mnt starbucks

Unless your competing in national level races your just another skier

And conversly, unless your absolutley KILLING it in your terrain park - your still JUST another skier

I personally would take a mnt full of racers wearing Phenix jackets, than a packed terrain park full of wannabe T-halls who care more about their jacket and pant sag than how they ski!

I was goin to get into racing so i learnd to ski like a racer and now i can ski more than just park. if the parks closed i can ski any where and still have fun.

racers go mach 1 down the iciest of trails and float over hills at like 85mphs for like 200ft.. until you can do any of what racers can and walk away from it like herman mier did when he crashed into the fencing at top speed... then you can bash racing..

i dont race it but i respect the fact of what they are doing is really dangerous.. yea.. we can nut on a rail. or come up short on a landing.. but we dont crash at 90mph...

we dont have anything against racers until they come into the park and hit jumps and do stragit airs and go off the sides of the rail jumps, and wen they start thinking that theyre cooler than us, because really, were cooler than racers
