Why freestyle aerials sucks as a competition (not as a sport)

Any sport that discourages its atheletes from progressing the level of competition is fundementally flawed. Peterson did something that none of the other competitors could do and just because he put a hand down, he was chucked from medal contention. The Chinese guy did really weak jumps, but stuck the landings well and got Gold. Crap if you ask me...
 
Yeah, i agree, 1620 triple back? that's insane, he should've been placed higher than seventh, but i guess the judges really pay attention to the landing, it was still super sick though

People who throw sicker tricks than everybody else but land sketchy have been getting robbed in various competitions for years. The problem lies with judging in general, not Aerials.
 
i cringed after watching this, never really watched it before now.

i couldnt believe they all did the same shit. i mean sure they are hardcore and skilled etc but it was so lame to watch.i:|
 
well you get points taken off for stuff like bending your knees in the air. straight pencil steeze is what they want.
 
I wanted to see someone come out there in a puffy coat and super baggy pants and twin tips, and do a switch cork 1440 mute grab. It never happened though.

Honestly though who named it the hurricane? I burst out laughing whenever they said it.
