Why don't you step off your high horse

It's going to be some interesting times for us to grow up in. So many of us take for granted the status of the US as a world power, yet a new US intelligence report tells us times are changing

what do you guys think

I'll be cautious not to blame everything on bush, but i think what you meant to say was that the us was pretty powerful until bush was president.

if those periodic national intelligence surveys could accurately predict the future, maybe we would have seen Al Qaida coming ahead of time...but even as late as the mid-90's, nobody in any of the intelligence services was seriously listening when people like Count de Marenches were trying to point out the looming threat of middle eastern fundamentalism and the danger posed by militant radicalism coming from the impoverished regions of the world...now we consider it the biggest problem currently facing us.
bottom line, dont read that survey as a collection of inevitabilities. we need to view it as a warning and try to use the next couple decades to make sure we avoid as many of those dark predictions as we can.

not to mention when we decline, everyone else in the world declines worse.

and not everyone is struggling on wall street.

im post 18% returns per week (CLAIM). don't believe me? PM me and ill tell you a little bit about my portfolio.

not everyone is feeling the 'credit crunch'

and um congrats on your sweet portfolio, but not everyone is hitting it big like you, are are they.

i mean i agree with you to an extent but there isn't much we can do to prevent India from going to the moon if they want to, we can't police every militant regime that gets a hold of nukes.

it's giving us a forecast for us to predict action on but if the weather man says it's going to rain, you only can bring a raincoat, you can't actually stop the rain.

haha, when people ask me if i like Obama, i tell them to ask me again in four years. if he could fix this, or at least improve the situation, i think a lot of people would be grateful, including myself (and i'm just a Canadian). what's sad is all the peope already celebrating his presidency and the fact that a black man is president, but in reality there's nothing good about a president, whatever race, until he does a good job. sure this is an improvement over racism, but it could turn out to be detrimental if he does a poor job in office (we all know there are some crazy people out there who wil blame it on the fact that he is black).

well yah, but honestly more space programs in the world is a good thing, except for that means a proliferation of advanced rocket technology.
diplomacy is a powerful thing though.
the best thing we can do for ourselves is solidify our position economically again...that, and stop being the world's police force for a couple years and worry about what's going on in our own neighborhood. soooooo many of our enemies are moving into south america, we've got enough to worry about closer to home these days.

These problems have been known for many years but cast aside due to greed, ignorance and spite. this shit has been predicted for a while, and is nothing new. the problem is that the u.s. is not in its golden age anymore and we refuse to realize this. o yea those fireworks were super ill.

its all about the benjamins ... hopefully your dollar doesnt devalue. I have read that China holds enough US currency that if they released it onto the world market the green back would tank so fast the US wouldnt know what hit em. Apperently they use that as leverage, and why not.

Screw the cold war, this is the bling war. But dont worry, super power or not, you guys have way more spinner rims and gold chains per capita than any other country.
