Why don't people throw double mistys?

In all honesty, why do pro skiers and "newschooler skiers" never through double mistys. I have seen a bunch of old ones on the internet, but none recently. Everyone is just jumping straight to triples and leaving out an whole variation of double flips. /thoughts

If you were to throw a dub misty, I would think dub 10 and upwards would be when they start looking nice. I never liked the look of a dub misty 9, especially with a japan. Switch dub misty 9 would be sick, kinda like a double overflip. I like your thinking OP

Didn't Goepper do a few switch dub mistys in X Games? I see what you mean though, I almost never see them.

Not dubs but..

I swear I could get off to the switch misty from 5:38-5:45 (dual angles)

And there's another one from like 09' by Nick Martini I just don't remember the title of the video. He's wearing a full G-Suit and its a single switch misty to mummy spin

I thought misty were way cooler than corks. my ski camp conselor took me to all my coaches, and told my view, they laughted. Dubs mistys are sick though, i like youre view OP

too much forward momentum = hard to control. Forward momentum in general is hard to control. Same reason you dont see a lot of regular misties and bios.

I am not talking switch mistys at all. IMO I think forward mistys look soo much cooler and they are technical. All we ever see are corks and rodeos, shit gets old

I just get bored watching jumps because I space out too much. By the end of an edit I'll just be watching them spin and flip in the air instead of actually thinking about how sick the trick was. Where as if somebody does a sick trick on a rail I pretty much passively realize how amazing the trick was. Idk might just because I haven't been skiing part very long

I know you're talking forward rotation, but sw misty's and sw dub misty's are probably my favorite tricks (to see). I would love to be able to bust out a sw misty 9.

Because everyone is just looking toward the future! ive been trying to work switch dub misty 10's on ramps cause i havent seen anyone do those yet

1:05 switch dub misty or bio or underflip 9 not really sure what

a friend of mine did one at the water ramps earlier this summer and it's a really sketchy rotation haha it basicaly ended up as a double crooked front flip

Around the 3:00 minute mark

People have a hard time making them look sick, I do have a buddy who throws the illest mistys, though he hasn't tossed any dub mistys yet.

OP stay on the lookout for Epic Planks new Germination Episode. Dropping tomorrow... You'll be satisfied.

Bene Mayr does a forward double misty 10 in Legs of Steel "Nothing Else Matters"

I'm gonna have to agree that misties are one of the ugliest tricks. It's probably why it's the only off axis trick I can throw consistently.

I'm typing with only my right hand because a misty broke my left radius and ulna a couple weeks ago. I can misty barefoot on flat ground and its my go to for cliff jumping, but every time i tryy to do it on skis things go bad.

Misties are sketch because flipping forward and moving forward can add together to have a lot of forward momentum.

I think people don't do them because they are damn difficult, and dangerous, all that forward momentum combined with being almost totally blind when opening up (except regular misty 5's and dub misty 9's) plus it makes you have to add an entire new variety of rotation to your trick bag versus a switch double misty which might as well be a double back full/d-spin that you throw switch.

This.Sw misty are so dope, forward misty look way more like meat hucking imo..unless nosegrab ones. Dumont were throwing some pretty cool ones during JOSS back in the days.
