Why does X Games hate skiing?

Seriously, they show the stupid snocross over skiing, they always bash it, never give it any air time. The list goes on and on. Why can't they just realize its the new up and coming big thing and it deserves (and has earned) its time on the air?
 
Cause a large majority of people like snowboarding, and obviously snowmobiles cause thats what they are showing, what the majority wants.

but i get what your saying like on the commercials for the xgames there like 1 2 second clip for skiing then theres like 4 snowboarding skiercross and snowmobile ones its stupid as fuck even when skiers are going bigger then the boarders
 
t's stupid cause they showed the snomotocross and we didn't get to see any of the styleish skiers runs except for luckily stefan(who was the best) and x games are stupid cause its about the hype and the advertizing and the companies, not about who's the best skier
 
you couldnt be anymore wrong. God i hate ppl like you who think the worse skiiers are more styleish and are better. Theres a reason that the unknowns are unknown and dont throw down 1260s, sw 1080s, and double flat spins. No, its not cuz a "smooooooth 360" is more stylish; its because they cant. Period. They arent good enough to throw a 1260. You guys are hindering progression. The hype and advertising go to the best skiier. The advertisers arent going to sponsor the worst skiier. The xgames are compltely about the best skiier.
 
yeah but thats not really the point hes trying to make. the point is that all skiing, sucky or not, is better than watching fricking snowmobiles drive around for an hour. i would rather watch smoooooooth 360s over 300 pound blocks of metal any day.
 
i look at it differently, i think that they should look at the entire run and the tricks that are thrown in succession. Andreas's 9 10 sw9 was probably the hardest combo done all night but they look and see that tanner did a switch 10 and dumont did a 1260. The only exception is something like Peter Olenick's "Whiskey Flip" which is just silly awsome.
 
I don't think you are on the right path there, chief. Spin to win ruins skiing. Progression is not measured in how much you spin around.
 
^plus andreas was a left 9 to right 10 to left cab 9, it was deffinately the most tech combo thrown all night
 
I think you guys have it all wrong.

This is a good thing!

They put skiing on last so that you have to watch all the stupid sleds.

If they put skiing on first would you keep watching the snocross? Thus losing them advertising possibilities!

Coverage sucks, they never show all the runs even for the snowboarders.
 
Yeah I noticed that too. All the sudden he has in like 5th or something and there were just 3 skiers left to go. I wanted to see him ski. Bastards!
 
Its simply an act to gain popularity of the X games. they cut skiing because of the future commericialision of snowboarding. People want to see injuries and snowboarding. The X games have been sold out
