Why does Tanner always have to be such a huge douche after he wins

i thought it echoed so i figured when he was bending down not looking at the camera they had a mic for him to speak to the crowd so he wasn't paying any attention to the camera..
 
simon didn't throw his arms up and claim the run he just stomped the fuck out of. instead he went straight to tanner and asked him if he was ok. and i also think that people shouldn't be so critical of tanner, it would be so hard to play off the role of a composed adult after you just killed your run and won x games.

I thought that Tanner conducted himself with grace and professionalism, actually. He said he was happy to be there and he complimented his competitors. I don't know how you can fault him for that.

Look man. Al these guys you talk about are great skiërs. I'm just wondering why some of them are so obsessed with their image, and Tanner is the worst of all. If he would just stick to his skiing and not try to act all gangsta or whatever. I'm ok with these guys trying to represent their sponsors and stuff like that (like Jon with his pink suit), but Tanner for exampel just acts as if everything revolves around him. This year a ridiculous beard, last time those loussy gogles he cliped on and of al the time...JUST SKI like simon, andreas, candide, peter...whatever
 
who cares, hes a skier not a politician. also, in order to put down a technical run like that under pressure you need a cocky mindset, to actually believe you're good enough to pull shit off that shudnt be possible. it's the same in all professional sports.
 
Did you see Mandreas after he won snowboard slopestyle and best trick. He was much more composed and professional. Not a cocky asshole. And he absolutely destroyed that course. Being cocky is immature and just says to me you're actually very insecure.
 
He is an adult professional skier, and thus should realize the implications of being such and act in an according manner. He can still have his personality, but behaving in that manner draws negative attention to a growing sport. Look at the NBA, it was incredibly popular 10 years ago ... where is it now? Major networks rarely televise games anymore. Why? Because of the players acting in an unprofessional manner. Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, and others from that era would never have jumped into the stands and start pounding on a fan. Yet they still retained their own idnetity and were beloved among their fans. Just a life lesson, although Tanner is a high school dropout hard for me to hold any reasonable standards to the uneducated.
