Why does skiing have to be so epic?

So you're saying you don't like movies like all I can? Valhalla? mutiny? Obviously you're not bc epic movies are fun to watch. Epic isn't bad. RED cameras and big production companies aren't bad either. It's part of what skiing is and it keeps us stoked for what we love. Different types of filming and vibes is what keeps NS interesting.

When did I suggest that?

Sorry about that, let me rephrase...

You lost all credibility when you suggested that skiing needs brobomb. Skiing needs brobomb about as much as a man needs nipples.

Thanks, this is just about perfect! As a Brobomb fan I formally request that this become the official tagline of the site.

Two pages of talking about having more fun in skiing and not taking it so seriously, but no one has mentioned GNAR yet? There should be a version adapted to every mountain or another version adapted for all NSer's to keep track of over a season.

Hoodcrew to the world !

Don't get it twisted. the hundreds of thousands of dollars we got from the NS producers program allowed freed to invest in red cameras. Thursty will be filled with slow mo heli shots and high def shots of fruit loops and 2 percent being dumped on ratchets.

On the real though, I do agree with Jason, ski media tends to glorify things almost to the point where things start to seem inaccessible and unrealistic. The beauty of this industry is that there will always be room for the MSP's and sweetgrass's to thrive as well as ratchet hoodcrew videos. Diversity keeps things interesting and fun. Let's just all try and keep shit moving on the grassroots side of things. LTC, tabernak pack and THC, among many others, will always represent the experience of the core of the sport and the everyday park skier so if your digging the content hit it with up votes comments and shares. Like Jason said it keeps the stoke real high on our end of things and encourages us to keep pumping shit out for y'all bc god knows we have never recieved a penny from sponsors. Mad shoutouts to newschoolers for the producers program, all of your views on our videos paid out and we were able to buy a winch, as well as an ounce of Molly to keep the stoke high at hood this summer, turnup!

No, I am not saying that at all. I love epic, super serious, high production movies, and definitely believe they have a place in skiing and on Newschoolers.

My worry is that the "fun" side of skiing is no longer being supported or glorified as much as it used to. And in my opinion, it needs both to survive.

I don't believe someone will ever take the fun out of skiing for you, me, or others doing it for the love of the sport. We need to support this mentality though and make sure there is always room for this in the industry. And that has to be done by everyone involved in my opinion.

Maybe we just need more people smiling in these kinds of videos. Good on you Noah!

Am I wrong in believing that the face of freeskiing should have a smile on it?

Right on. Hatveit/Wallisch/Woods would have been a nice smiley Olympic podium for the public to see.

More Totally Trevor as well.

This is exactly why I'm voting for JLev in the 2016 presidential race.
