Why does nobody do lincolns?

In my personal opinion, they don't have the same aesthetic. There's just something about hucking backwards off a cliff or jump. Backflips are a widely recognized trick, loved by spectators. Lincoln's, they're a little easier, but generally look less clean and effortless.

This makes sense. I want to learn another flip or two since I only know backies on skis. I’ve done hundreds of Lincoln’s both ways on trampoline, off picnic tables, on flat ground, off cliffs into water, you name it. I had just figured it’s a shitty trick to over rotate on snow and just might feel a little awkward if you don’t land perfect

Na, they are easy and pretty fun. I enjoy a good Lincoln over a back any day

people do, but they call them cork 3s

It really is kinda the same set as a cork three, neither of which I can do on snow. But on a tramp you set it the same way, it’s just a matter of where you throw your feet.

i tried a Lincoln on skis once and landed on my head, so that’s why I don’t try them hahah.

Always found Lincolns just felt a bit awkward, they are kinda fun though, a clean backie feels waaaay better though

It’s because it’s an awkward trick to set. Front flips and backflips have proper take offs where you can set the rotation with momentum. Front flips you can pop off your ski tips. Back flips already are set to go with the angle of take off and you just have to lean back.

When you try your first invert are you going to try a front flip, back flip, or side flip. Probably not a side flip. They also have little payout, they don’t look as cool.

I just had this thought. I have a buddy who gave up skiing, but when he does go out- he only throws lincolns.

Honestly i think it is the most underrated jump trick of all time.

Im glad someone else thinks this way. Its such a sweet trick when its floated. I remember going to the diving boards at CU and my buddy would throw double lincoln loops off the high dives.

Ok, I was trying to find a clip of a steezy lincoln or double lincoln and now I see what everyone is saying. This trick just looks kind of awkward. It seems difficult to get straight on and usually just looks like a wannabe flatspin in some of the other videos I saw. this first video is kind of fire though.

lincolns are the shit. I like to lay them out by shiftying and doing sort of a snowboarder rodeo rotation. They look sick with opp mutes or blunts. I'm not sure why they're not more popular because they're a really fun rotation. It's like going through a corkscrew on on a rollercoaster. You can do them with almost no upper body movement too which is cool like Liam Downey's in this edit.

a lincoln is not a cork 3.

yeah duh, but some people do them so inverted that their skis are almost parallel to the ground at 180. nobody wants to call their cork a lincoln loop tho
