Why does is seem like all good skiers are short?

really? I saw him at bear (CLAIM) in the lift line and he was a few inches shorter than me and I'm 6'1''. I'd say he's like 5'8'' but w/e he's sick.
 
those are the random .5% of players out there that are short - 99.5% of the players are tall

the average height in the NBA is 6'7'' - you can't just name 2 guys and make a point when there are thousands of players to choose from - since Mugsey Bogues is retired

ever heard of mean, median, and mode.
 
umm, clarke is like 5'11". which is not exactly short (average height is 5'8.5"). he's talking about guys like hall, dumont, vinnie, which are all like 5'7" and under.
 
thats like 5 skiers out off a 100 most skiers are short, im 6,2 and know less than 5 skiers that are taller than me that are real good. most are under 5,10
 
giray is taller than me I think ( 6'1"-6'2" ) and still has rediculous style, I think taller ppl just have to work a little harder to make it look good
 
its just because they have less to control, which usually gives them more style. BMX is the same way really. There are some tall guys but the majority of the gnarliest best knowns are short. I think its because they look higher to scale in the air too. Like someone 25 feet up thats 6 feet tall is 4 times his height up but someone thats 5 foot tall is 5 times his height higher. Giving him the appearence of more amplitude.
 
I disagree, all the hacks in bmx are short guys with rigid shitty style(nyquist, escimilla, mirra and so on) most the tall guys are steez(inman, bohan, doyle, adam baker)
