Why does Freeskier suck so bad?

I mean come on can't somebody make a better magazine than that. I got a free subscription and I'm almost sorry I even sent in the card. I don't even read the issues because they are so terrible. There is just nothing good in this magazine. Why can't there be an awesome skiing magazine like Transworld Snowboarding or Snowboarder that actually has some good content in it.
 
i enjoy freeskier alot, it has good photos, and the articles are usually interesting. i'd like to hear some more detailed and constructive criticism supporting your case against them.
 
yea i love freeskier...i think it has great articles and trip covereage and shit...i dont think i would chage anything about it...to me..it has a perfect balance of everything...but yes i would be interested in hearing more about how its sucks instead of you just bitching about it randomly
 
freeskier probably puts out the best photos in the ski industry. The content is ok, nothing to bitch about really. SBC is where its at
 
I'm gonna have to completely agree with caleb on this one. If you really hate Freeskier, just send them a list of your complaints and maybe some tear-soaked tissues while you're at it. And since you seem to like the snowboard magazines so much better, why are you reading a skiing one?
 
i agree, it really isnt that good, its so generic freesking, the mag, is not fuuny, like freeze or SBC skier, and has absolutely nothing orginal in it
 
freeskier is a pretty good mag, stop being a fag and stop bitching! holy shit im pretty sure the person who invented skiing wasent planning on it being overrun and destroyed by homosexuals like you, so go and ski becasue its fun and thats how it should be.. and if you still can't stop complaining why dont you start a magazine and well see how good it is? huh how bout that? and your reason to not liking it is retarded so just deal with the fact that they are making tons of money and doing very well for themselves and they dont need one person bickering about there stuff, because big companys, etc only focus on the greater good if you havent noticed that already...
 
well, how bout we turn this into a useful thread. Am I the only person who hasnt gotten the new freeskier yet? cause I think they messed up my sub.
 
i had freeze then wen they got cancled or w/e i was pissed and resorted to freeskier...it was a huge dissapointment compared to freeze but now i like it
 
bad articles? read the latest issue on skiing pipe in the olympics, its actually a well constructed article with good facts to suppport their views. stop bitching about a subject you are unintelligent on
 
i used to not read the articles till i got freeskier..i find that they hold my attention and the photography is amazing...long live freeskier..but yes...rip freeze
 
Oh come on it sucks quit fooling yourselves. Did any of you read the article on the Icer Big Air. IT was fucking terrible. IT was like two paragraphs and it was centered around Johnny Mosley doing a 3 over the jump. The pictures were terrible. The one of the jump was so small you couldn't tell what you were looking at and there was another picture of TJ SChiller just standing there. GAY. Their articles have no content and you can read through the entire magazine in less than a half hour. I'd like to see some more indepth articles. Like the one on backcounrty freestyle in th last issue. They could have written way more but instead filled the pages up with gigantic pictures and little more than a paragraph of actual text.

Even their Photo Annual, which use to be my favorite in the industry, sucks. They no longer have MAttai Fredrikkson shooting for them and he's the best in the biz.

Freeskier just seems to fall short in everyting they do. They've really got a good oppurtunity to bring freekiing to the masses as well as further influence those already involved in the sport. But they are blowing it by making an unimaginative, uncreative, visiaully boring, and just plain stale magazine.
 
Say what you want but it's the best we have for now. Eventually it will grow, but give it some time. There are some great pics, and there are always some decent article. I think that Freeze had better articles, but it also had stupid shit like Ask Brad. I thought that Freeskier's section on photography was really good, and very insightful.
 
i miss freeze so bad, freeskier is a good mag, it just seems to lack personality, but ill continue to read and like it as long as theres nothing else out there
 
i was lookin through transworld snowboarding mag and it's filled with ad's not even for snowboarding. almost 1\2 the mag is just ad's! i think that freeskier isn't all that bad. freeze is better but their not around any more.
 
I think the magazine would be a lot better if it /only/ had pictures of Tanner Hall in it. So if they removed the 3 pictures that weren't of him in each magazine that'd be great.
 
In Every transworld snowboarder mag ive ever seen, half of it was ads, which to me isn't a good mag, Freeskier is great
 
I thought the last two issues of the mag were the best I've ever seen... Freeskier may not be there yet, but they're on their way up, I think.
 
freeze was the best, but freeskier isnt that bad

if you have such a problem with it then you should probably go fight the creater

or make yur own magazine
 
Ohh yeah that's why they run those gay ass glove adsamong other things, and write like a bunch of third graders. I'd love to see an artcle in the magazine that was over a 500 words. I guess they just assume their readers are a bunch of retards but some of us would like to read something that's well written with a little more content to it. But I'm sure for you it's just fine the way it is. Hell you probably just want all pictures so you don't have to think at all.

first of all most of you dont even know how hard it is to make a ski magazine let alone any magazine or paper...im the school newspaper editor and its not as easy as it looks. there are sooo many steps taken into consideration when doing an issue, i think that freeskier is THE best magazine out for skiing right now, they have a total dedication to our sport and the articles are awesome in it...it just goes to show your ignorant
 
^It's the best mag right now but that doesn't mean it doesn't suck. I know it takes a long time to make a magazine. I use to work on the yearbook back in high school and it takes 6 months just to put one of those together. I just don't think Freeskier is really stepping it up and being the best magazine they can be.
 
Yeah. They have extremely good content and good pictures. Freeskier isn't all that bad either though. Although in the January issue the "in depth" analysis of half pipe in the olympics wasn't all that well written, it was still a decent article that provided good information. Plus, they actually own up to their free subscriptions and put a lot of money into the comps and the like.
 
Freeskier is a very good magazine I find.

The only thing I dislike about it are the spyder commercials on the back of it, but who cares really?

And speaking of all this I miss freeze stuff, did anyone ever read and enjoy Axis magazine as much as I did?
 
its sort of ok, but lacks weight. I mean the last edition dec was pretty thin on info, ideas or riders. But it is there so i will go out and buy it but obviously despite the intent, they failed in their plan to transfer freeze style and stuff across. just a matter of time til someone starts up an alternative - another freeze-, then they (freeskier) will get a jolt.
