Why does everyone like long skis?

i am moving up a lot. i am 6' and use a 169 PE. should i get a 181 or 176 AR6, if i am going to center mount?

i have 179 fujative and im about 5'11 and i wanna go to at least 181 or bigger and way fatter if possible

i ride 181s and they still feel to short. (im 6'1)

i ride 163s and im 5'9", they feel just right.
