i dont care at all about the skize of my skis. i ski park at a very small hill so i got 169's. if i skiied outwest i would get something larger cause i would ski more big mountain. its not a big deal at all. my mountain is actually alot of big guys with like scratch pro teens. like really big guys, like 180 lbs and 6ft 3 guys. but he can frontflip. the shorter skis allow for more of that. if you care about being stylely and steezy and you think anyone at all else would care, get larger.

Im now Libertarian.

And sexy as hell.

im 6 foot and i ride 177 in the park but im a skinney mother fucker so they are dope.

ive been riding 180s since i was 12 or 13. i like the longer ski cause its more stable on the ground and when im spinning.

hehe.. I guess all theese Ideas are good..

Thoe I think the reason we like longer skis, have its roots longer back in time.

Remember the days when we had no carving.. The longer skis, the faster the better...

When u grew (got older) You could have longer skis.. IT WAS RESPECT!..

Id say it lives on!.. I dont find it easyer to spin with longer skis.. or grab the tail? but o well.. Longer skis = RESPECT in the Childland!

i just dont feel stable without a longer ski. especially with my skis being close to centermounted im just in need of more tip. i need to get 175's. my 165's are too short. and i'm 5'3'. it just feels right.

-Lauren

I dropped out of high school to ski.

you think 6'3 180 is big??? jeeze... i'm gonna be like 6'2 220 by the time i'm done growing... (note i'm not gonna be fat)

A lot of people are saying they like big skis so they can spin easier. Why not just huck some ariels?

I was looking at the skis at a local shop they had a bunch of 160-170 range, so I asked told the guy there that they should get something over 180 and he looked really surprised and asked why I would want them that big. At this point I decided that he was a moron, and answered 'because Glen Plake is awesome' So yeah... WI is dumb for skiing.

it also depends on how much you weigh guys, you need to utilize the flex pattern, if you cant flex the ski worth shit theres no point because it will just be like riding a 2 by 4

What skiing will become$$$

Hey, does anyone know what would be better for me, a narcoleptic bulldozer, or an irish wolfhound who thinks he's Hillary Duff? - J.D._May

Not wearing poles is alot like getting a blowjob from a guy...It feels good until you look down and realize you're gay.

Depends on a lot of factors...the stiffness of the ski, how strong of a skier you are, how much you weigh, how tall you are...I personally find that 163 on mad trix is perfect for me because they are stiff and very stable at high speed, and carve like crazy, but i am 5'8' only 135. Normal skis I would ride a 170.

We'll have you dead pretty soon.

I'm 5'10' and i have 181's. I like them b/c they're stable, small enough to be agile but still have enough base area to float in the pow. They're only 80 at the waist and moderately stiff so they can handly crud.

And that is why I prefer longer skis.

long skis have steeze ya jackass.

i saw a guy that was over 6' today and he had 160 seth pistols monuted seriously at traditional mount or even further back than that and it looked soooo gay. if you are gonna have shitty short hucking skis at least centre them or they look fucking stupid.

'this is just like sex, only im having it!'

im about 5 7 and i have 177s long skis are the best i think more steeze more solid and sweet for grabs

Im not outta line your outta line the whole frikin system is outta line and when you reach over and put your hand into a pile of goo and find out its your best friends face, well guess what marge its chinatown.

if your 5 10 then 177-182 is the length to be at, you got to have then center mounted if possible for the real steez. when kids are like 5 4 and ski like 177 or 180 it looks very weird.

shorter skis can actually be more difficult to ski on than a longer pair, given the fact that your technique in terms of body centering and balance needs to be a lot more precise than with a longer ski. i'm 5'3 and have a pair of 154 volkl sticks that i use for carving, they're fun but sit back slightly and they throw you off. my freeride skis range from 160-170cms, i've been using 160's for the past year but i think i'm going to go back up to 170 given that a lot of companies are starting to put pussy soft flex in their smaller skis thinking that us dwarves can't handle it.

ski length is pretty much negligible at this point. ski construction has changed to where you can get a stable, fast ride on a 175 that is similar to a 205 from 6 years ago. when i was in highschool i skied a 205 force 9 and from there i got a 175 1080. i was amazed at the stability that the little ski provided...the only time i felt venerable was at the highest speeds and that is mostly due to lack of torsional stiffness in the ski. so, i would say that construction and stiffness of the ski is more important that overall length.

'I have never enjoyed a day of skiing on the east coast.'

Peepl ride big skis cuz big skis have big graphics which are eazier for everyone to see and peepl like to show em' off and try to look cool on the lift lines. And they also compensate for small cocks, kinda like with fast flashy expensive cars.

boost

^ Hahaha. All I can think of with long skis gives you more compensation for your landing. For example, if you overrotate a backflip, you have more ski in the back to help pull it off, so basically if you suck at landing, and need a handicap, go for longer skis. If you're pretty smooth, like to spin faster... go shorter. Its simple

Keep it real.

I couldnt do alot of stuff on my 158 that i can do on my 176. Rails are so much smoother, and spinning is more stable.

my skis are like an inch taller than me. its nice because it makes stomping landings much easier. with a shorter ski your more likely to wash out

short skis are so gay!!!! I hate them because:

1. They look not good in the air.

2. You have no control.

3. I hate them.

4. don´t buy a ski under 1.75, even if you are very small!!

Long fat skis rock!!!!!

6'2 and 185 Nordica Blowers and 176 Scratch BC. Scratch are way too small. Under my chin. i want my all-mountain ski to be about 180-185, and well as my powder ski. Its just a good size for me.

Seriously long skis don't make you spin that much slower. If you're setting too early then it'll make you crash harder I guess, but once again not really a big enough difference to be noticable

Personally I need longer skis because I am 6 ft 3.

also they are more stable on big drops, and high speed. they just feel more stable. I am riding the Seth Pistols right now 189cm, I wish they were at least 193cm like my old LINE dragons. Those were really the best size & shape I have ever skied on. But nothin like the old days of 210cm plus....
