Why does everyone insist on calling it switch.

its not cooler its just the trick equivalent to snowboarding and you are switching your stance 180 degrees

Because fakie is a skateboarding term that refers to doing switch tricks with a nollie. So you're popping with your natural stance just facing the wrong direction. Fakie =/= switch. Comprendé?

uh huh..... im guessing we call it switch because its the only other way to ride skis? just like fakie and regular stances on snowboards? this a serious thread?

i swear...kids on newschoolers are getting...dumber...and dumber...and dumber.. each and every day

why do snowboarders call a cannonball grab a cannonball? in a real cannonball you grab your knees, not the two ends of a plank, if cannonballs into pools were performed by grabbing both ends of a plank, I think the term would be appropriate, but its not. thus i am suggesting that the name is changed to the "double ender" grab or a "nose and tail at the same time" grab or possible even the .":I have a very wide armspan" grab. when one of the new names replaces the name "cannonball", I will refer to riding switch as riding backwards. I might even start calling mute grabs, "cross the front of the skis while holding onto one tip and pulling said tip up towards my body" grabs

so we should probably change the name of the comon rail trick "switch up" as well since a switch up is your body does a 180 but you keep sliding in the same direction on the rail... your right.i vote reverse mode for backward skiing (you know keep it techie like its a video game setting to stay in touch with the younger generation)and front/back/360 reverser on rails....

It should be called Ridin Dirty

Or to use in sentence form

"he dropped in dirty"

"Ridin dirty in pow is easier with rockered skis"

etc

think there was a thread on this a year or two ago haha

hahaha fuck yes that would be unreal, for jokes i'm gonna say that when i ride switch from now on

I am confused when snowboarders ride switch because I can never tell the difference. Some people's stance is left foot forward, and some is right so you never really know if someone just did a 5 or a switch 5..

are you kidding me? snowboarding switch looks the EXACT same as forward because really it's the same thing

Do i have to explain this again. Your right skiers aren't skiing "switch" and neither are SNOWBOARDERS because you are connected to the board or skis. Switch is a skateboard term where the front of the board doesn't change directions, the skater does. So if your connected to the equipment by binders you can't go switch.

i always knew it as riding goofy for boards, but does it really matter what any of us call it? u can call it fluffy bunny, it really doesnt fuckin matter... kids are gonna call it what they want

There was an article about this in freeskiier like 4 or 5 years back and the dude who wrote the article called it brown eye first.

haha. the OP is a faggot. EVERYONE CALLS IT SWITCH. EVEN THE FIRST PEOPLE ON TWIN TIPS, such as mike douglas. your a faggot.

If it's got bindings it's not switch dumbass. Snowboards, skis, wakeboards, whatever, you can only go switch when you not attached and can jump off the thing and SWITCH you stance. What part of this don't you understand. Have you ever ridden a skateboard?

OP, why do you insist on using the wrong punctuation?

And as far as the topic goes, I suppose fakie is more correct? Or cab perhaps? It doesn't really matter though, does it? No matter which word you use, the point comes across I think...
