Why does 4bi9 and tanner hall and ashley battersby ski at Park City?

you're a fucking idiot. hes saying you do best when you're having fun and loving what you do and not taking it seriously and training. really though? come on.

Another prime fucking example of the image conscious bullshit in our sport..
Do you really, honestly believe that it is impossible to "love what you do, have fun", and AT THE SAME TIME take something seriously, put some effort in, work hard etc.? Are those concepts mutually exclusive to you or something?
Most (ALL) of the top pro skiers loooooove what they do, have more fun than anyone, and still take their skiing seriously and work at it.
What's your issue with the suggestion that people in our sport actually work hard at something or take something seriously, while still having fun? Is the word "training" threatening your badass image?

Not in an all mountain terrain context. When compared to the lcc, bcc and even up north. The terrain there blows large cowballs. Jupes as my dear dad calls it is as good as it gets and since Mconkeys got put in that shits tracked out in minutes. It may well have a world class pipe and terrain parks but as for terrain and back country access that shits a joke. Queer Valley and the canyons both have better terrain imo.

yea and alta and snowbird don't have parks. but who cares because no one goes to those resorts to shred park even when they had them. just like no one in their right mind would go to pc to shred some gnar lines or whatever. this whole conversation is about park really...so everything you said is pretty much irrelevant, although true.

I'm not up to date on this thread, but is anyone arguing this? that's why most people have two passes. Who would honestly go to PC to ski the mountain?

tanner has a house in whitewater im pretty sure too so he does alot of pow skiing up there.
i thought it was common knowledge that they are all locals of PC?

the beauty of living here in SLC is that if you want a legit park...go to park city. nuff said. but if its an epic pow day..you have about 4+ phenomenal resorts to go to for that. plus the wasatch backcountry is legendary regardless if you ski, snowboard, sled or whatever. the only unfortunate thing is the restrictions on where you can bring your dog into the mountains.

but other than that...utah has proven to be a ski bums dream. yeah there are mormons, but fuck there are religions in every city that 'rule' over the city. but the mormons have their spot in downtown and usually stay away from the mountains. living is cheap(er), passes aren't that expensive, and the commute to resorts that are known worldwide for their terrain is less than 30 minutes (40 on a snowy day).

going to school here 2 days a week and shredding the rest of the week sounds like a good week to me.

That has absolutely nothing to do with this thread, the topic is about park and why "pros" ski here and not at whistler or CO. Obviously everything at pc that ISNT park sucks, thats why i get a god damn alta pass every year.

haha i wasnt trying to be one of those guys i was just saying i ski there for my non park needs.

Actually I scored a gig working for ski Utah an hour a day 3 days a week in return for a silver pass So I think 30 days at every resort in Utah beats $100 for one marginal one

100 dollars for an alta pass? what is that like, tuesdays wednsdays and thursdays only or something? thats fucking CHEAP.

it's actually pretty inexpensive to live here. low cost of living, less unemployment than other areas by a lot

it is really not expensive at all

but utah sucks, don't move here.

give it a few years and you will be able to ride all three canyons by lifts, all on one pass, all fairly cheaply. Its true my friends the dream is happening.

why are people who don't live in or ride anywhere near slc talking shit on it? you guys are dumb fucks

and with the new park manager...I'm going to say Park City will have one of the top 3 parks in the country this year..no doubt about it...breck/pc/key in no precise order

keep your inside jokes inside. tell T he doesn't train see what he says you arrogant fuck, that kid works like it his job because guess what? Its his fucking job!!! Im so over all you kids talking shit on kids who say they train like your on some fucking "soul skier" shit, its all the same just because you don't refer to as "training" going skiing and trying a trick all day till you get isn't training tell me I've only made from sugar house to the parking lot in a half hour once and I was going 100 in an s4 with mellow traffic. To answer the thread question, SLC is a perfect central location if youre a traveling skier airports close decent mountains are close and theres a city (sort of) maybe heath should do a little "training" get in shape start exercising something other than your mouth and fingers.
