Why do you wear your goggles under your helmet?

started way before i was into freestyle skiing or anything. maybe 8 or so years ago i broke the goggle clip on my helmet and started to do that so my goggles wouldnt fall off, and never went back. its way more comfortable imo

I do it because if you fall hard enough you're still not going to lose your goggles. I learned that mistake back in my snowboard days.

I always thought it was done so you could show off more stickers, but I just do it so I don't have to worry about my goggles falling off

Another reason I never thought of. I'll add it to my Venn Diagram for when people post threads asking "strap over or under helmet"

Here's why

I did that for a while when I had a skate style park helmet but it just wasn't as comfy as my BC helmet with strap outside, so that's all I wear these days.

winter time = earpads + goggles over. i only wear my goggles under in the spring when i take out my ear pads and dont want to be a kook skiing with goggles over my helmet and no earpads. or i just wear sunglasses.

Bought my first helmet when I started park and had to go goggles underneath because I bought a size too big and that helped fill in empty space. But now I just wear them underneath because I prefer the look

For me, wearing goggles under helmet's more comfortable than wearing it outside. It tends to crack more easily, and the straps would become more stretched and lost it's elasticity.

i dont know why people say its more comfortable because having a goggle clip on your ear hurts. but yeah your goggles stay on and it looks like you are just wearing a beanie but slapped a helmet on because you have to.

...Move the clip then? I do it cause I take my helmet off on the lift to get that fresh air haha.

I never wear my goggles under my helmet. Then again, I also hardly ski park. Most helmets come with a strap on the back which keeps the goggles from flying away.

so you have to ski park to wear your goggles under a helmet? Does wearing them under the helmet not also keep them from flying away?

holds them in place/won't lose them no matter how hard i fall

happens to be more comfortable/sit on my face better with my setup

looks better and i only ski to look good

Didn't everyone know that? And yes. I was just saying the argument of keeping them under your helmet to keep them from flying away is silly. I don't care if you wear it inside or out. The OP asked for input, so I gave it.

I wear them under the helmet so I can just slide my goggles up with my helmet on the chairlift and then when I wear them on the outside of my helmet the strap always gets tangled over the helmet and leaves my face with the red marks because the get to tight
