Why do you ski?

we all have different reasons. for some, its just something to do in the winter, and for others, it could possibly involve their career goals.

for me, skiing is something that no matter how hard i try i cant stop doing it. i do it because i cant seem to match the great feeling i get when im on the hill regardless of whether im getting tricks or not.

why do you ski?

because nothing in the world can match the euphoria that i experience every time i get on the hill

It's soo much fun, it's a release of sorts. No worries, no cares outside of skiing-based stuff, plus I'm addicted to the adrenaline rush you get from shralping a sick line or landing a certain trick, etc.

idk i was just out on the hill today and my money fell out of my poocket and i asked myself "why did i work for this money to go skiing? i could be spending it on coke and hookers and private jets, but i spent my hard earned money on a lift ticket to ski. why?" so i made this thread. i think i think too much

it's a sport that, being where i'm from, i can call my own. and in the summer, i feel like beating shit out of everybody cause i'm not skiing

it kicks arse hardcorely and is an insane adrenalaine (sp?) rush

and i can push myself as far as i want, as hard as i want

i have no idea. i really dont know why i even go anymore, ive de progressed so much in the past few years its redic

i think people put too much pressure on themselves when they ski. i know its cliche, but i think even if you suck if youre having fun then thats good skiing

straight up.

no coaches, no rules, no pressure. no shot clock, no time limit (cept the sun setting.) powder days!. a bomb lunch at the mountain. a good stomp. sitting on top of a mountain with your friends after hiking. the silence. looking around, spotting your line, and dropping just how you wanted. a few nicely linked turns. tree skiing! getting centered on a rail. spinning out of it. building a Good jump for a day or 2 then hitting it three times and being completely satisfied. and getting a sense of accomplishment too. these feelings are irreplaceable and cant be recreated in any way shape or form. these feelings, to me, are skiing. this is why i ski.

here is no better feeling then having a good day on the hill. nothing can match the feeling after you stomp a new trick or the feeling after getting to the bottom of an epic pow run..

nothing beats it

a lot of it has to do with the adrenaline and thrill of accomplishing something cool. And I prefer to ski with other people (or be seen by other people) so I guess I like the competition too. And there's nothing quite like hucking yourself off a cliff into such deep powder that it makes no difference if you land on your feet or your head.

Your a fucking asshat. Especially for telling snowboarders to "hold my skies" While you play catcher for tanner hall.

And I thought you only skied to update your myspace photos, fag.

Haha that was deserved. I love to ski for several of the reasons already listed, but snowboarding kicks ass too. I just started skiing w some good snowboarders this year and it has put a totally new perspective on lines and style in my skiing.

when i ski..i forget about everything..nothing stresses me out..i dont worry about school or getting a job or just..anything. its more than a fun thing to do for me..i need it. i love it..its not just a hobby for me. i wouldnt be able to stop if i tried. not that i would ever want to try. i love it. its part of me. i wouldnt be who i am if i wasnt a skier.

Yeah, but if you ever learned how to ski properly, its a feeling comperable to spreading ur moms ass cheeks and bringing the pain.

obviously Troop801 spends most of his days on one hill: the bunny hill. it's alright though. some are slower at learning than others.

i just love the feeling of haveing no coach or people to tell me this is right or you cant do it like that, the freedom of expression i suppose

dont get me wrong i love organized sports and shit...but skiing is somethin you can do and not HAVe to get better to keep doin it..your on your own time
