Why do you ski

This is probaly been a thread already but I'm new and I was just wondering why people ski because there are alot of T-Hall look alikes but then there are alot of true skiers. But my dad was telling me in a couple resorts in Colorado theres been knifes pulled on the mountains and crap so some of the ski patrol have guns and crap. To me that's not skiing and those guys are possers. I ski because I love making that powder turn, pushing my limits, going fast, getting away from the world, hangin with my buds, going down something steeper and steeper everytime, flying threw the air, spinning, knowing there's a risk, the fresh air, and ect. It may sound gay but to me that's what skiings about. I don't know why people imitate gangsters because at my school gangsters hated skiers and talked alot of crap. Skiings not about looking cool(I have a 6 year old jacket with holes I'm getting a new one because the midwest humidity would kill me) and talking crap. and who cares if your a skier or snowboarder(I'm both) your all there for the same reason. So what do you guys think skiings about and why do you ski?

 
First of all...how are tanner hall look-alikes not real skiers? last time i checked a skier was someone who does something for fun...skis...so dont give me this shit that park rats arebnt real skiers,becasue it seems that u were leaning that way...

I ski for myself...i ski to have fun and to stay n shape...i ski or the thrills of throwing down my best tricks and trying to make things become slower and smoother...

sorry if it sounded that way by t-hall look alikes I meant people who by the best crap just to look good talk alot of crap but can't even slide a rail. I ride the park alot to. sorry if it came out that way. Tanner Hall's good don't get me wrong there either but it's the riders the dress and act like him but can't back it up that bug me.

 
If people want to carry a knife when they ski, they will only stab themselves the time that they actually try to slide that rail.

i live in the midwest and i ski for fun...i dont care what i look like or if im not good i think that these days the big mountain skier no to be mean but some of them get so good cause they can practice all that suff in the water ramps....we just go out there and throw something and the landings are good cause of lack of snow and we get up and try it again and just love to ski for the fun of it and i dont care who i look like or if these guys are better than me

 
hey bro, im on th east coast, i ride whiteface, tremblant and stowe sometimes, i ski to find new lines and stuff that people dont normally do, stuff that is innovative adn hasnt been done before. most of it includes huckin off drops and poppin ollies over stuff. i like bein able to ride anything, so moguls and powder are nice changes too.

ski for fun, the rush, to gett away from people and do my own thing, and to get rid of stress. I can forget about anything bothering me.

I wear clothes that are big an comfortable, but I don't ski to look like t-hall, I ski for fun

i ski to go fast. i love the way skiing in powder feels and how high speed carving on courdorouy feels. i love it . i love getting weightless on rollers and hitting jumps and pushing myself
