Why do you guys reccomend getting DIN set at a shop?

if someone has to ask what din they should ride at, they're probably best off having a shop do it for them ...

you might be a 10-DIN in general, but depending on the binding you might have your heels and toes set slightly differently to get the proper release values. Always best to have a shop run the full routine.

Ive had a recent knee injury, dislocated and fractured patella, ill be skiing over christmas for 3 weeks just taking it easy, not skiing was not an option. I was thinking of just wacking my DIN down pretty low just in case, what do you think?

I cal bindings all day at the shop i work at. First of all you personally arent going to know your din setting that matches your height weight age and skier type off of the top of your head. All of these things factor in. Once the forward pressure is set correct we tighten or loosen the screws to your din setting that we match up on the chart. When we torque the bindings for your toes and your heals the din setting fit for you might not come out in the correct ranges. You wouldn't be able to figure this out on your on for you don't have achart or a torque wrench. Its all done to properly set your bindings so that they come out in range and they function properly with correct release and retention. go to the shop.
