why the hell do we pay so much for ski cloathing? right now I work at a ski/ snowboard clothing outlet store. we carry mostly Burton and the companies that Burton owns (Ronin, AK, Foursquare, Special Blend ect) and all that stuff is the same stuff as the ski stuff we wear. sa,e style same quality and everything. most pants are about 80 bucks and go to about 130 for insulated seam-sealed AK (Burton's High quality line) same thing goes for jackets where I work a good quality snowboarding jacket is about 100 dollars.

I mean sure we sell at wholesale prices but why do we pay twice as much or even more for ski company cloathing?

if i can get the sam ething but from a snowboard company for 100 bucks less...i aint supporting shit...support me by offering fair prices to make me want to buy it. you going to spend 400 when you can get it for 250 just to 'support some cause'?

I'm not sure I understand this "support the industry" thing. I've had spyder, obermeyer, siver cartel, but no snowboard brands. That's not because I don't like them or their clothes, it's because I happened to find it cheaper. But if that changes, I'll start wearing snowboard brands.

Helly Hanson and Sessions both make SICK pants in the $100 retail price point this year. That is a new developement you'll see a lot of soon.

for companies like siver its an economical answer. it has to do with the supply and demand curve. the fewer buyers the higher the price. snowboard companies sell atleast 50% more stuff the siver or orage so they can lower their price and still make money. just type in google images "supply and demand curve" it makes alot of sence if you look at it.

I just about dropped 4hundy on the 686 smarty jacket. Nicest jacket i've tried on in a while. I'm glad i didn't tho, arm and a leg.

I found some Foursquare pants on eBay for $35, and new snowboard jackets run around $150. We are getting ripped off.
