Why do we do the things we do

Newschool skiers have unusual clothing and habbits, and I want to know why. If you do any of the following, please explain the reason.

1: Wear large clothing

2: Use short poles

3: Wear your goggles under your helmet

4: Center mount your skis

5: Keep the bar up on the chairlift

6: Buy full tilts

7: Use neon/bright Clothing (2008-2013)

haha i do every single one of those things except for the last one: Large clothing is more comfortable, shorter poles don't get in the way of rotation and grabbing. i really dont know why i wear goggles under, i guess just cause other people do haha... center mount mainly for added balance when grinding, bar up cause why the hell not, full tilts cause of shinbang protection and customizability.

1. Because it's steezy af

4. Because I have better performance on rails when my skis are mounted at true center.

6. Because they fit my feet.

I don't really do any of the other things.

1. I'm a 5 foot 3 girl and everything is big on me

2. I dont even use poles

3. Because thats how my brother wore his

4. So that you can ride switch better/easier.

5. I aint no pussy

6. Proforms and they actually fit my feet and were what I was looking for flex wise. Also it's super easy to change flex tongues for park on the east and all mtn when I go out west.

7. So people could see me being steezy af

1: because snowboarders did it

2:they are not in the way

3:because snowboarders did it

4:best for park skiing

5:skier gotta act like thugs

6:because Tom Wallisch

7:because snowboarders did it

I wear my goggles under my helmet because when I eat shit they stay on and don't get lost or filled with snow. It also makes the foam mad crusty on your goggles if you put them up on your helmet.

3: Doesn't stretch the strap, looks better, easier.

5: I put my arm around the back of the chair. I'm not clumsy enough to fall off.

1. Baggy is comfortable AF.

2. Long poles get in the way going switch

3. Pure style.

4. To ski backwards as much as forwards

5. Because its like riding a flying couch, and they can't tell me to put the bar down

6. SPKs for life. Full tilts are too narrow for me, though apparently this changed.

7. Pink is the new black.

aaaaaaaaaaand the very second you step into the backcountry you ditch them all.

1.Super light skis and 800$ dynafit binding

2.Yellow, Orange, Neon Green and black are the only colors that exist

3.Collapsible ski poles

4.Sunglasses

5.Overuse of technical terms

Once again...not much me. XL is large enough for freedom, not too much to get wet. Full tilts because I love a soft boot in deep powder and I have bad feet for boots. Giro helmet, goggles over helmet and backpack with spares of everything, Rossi super 7s 2013 with Baron 13s.
