Why do rappers love Hennessy?

I was thinking about picking up a bottle-to be honest I've never tried it or seen it at any party. And I'm a huge rap/hip hop fan and so many legit rappers talk about 'henny'. But after googling for a few minutes I noticed that many people say that Hennessy is a fine cognac that should be sipped at room temperature after dinner. It's not really meant to be a pass-around get drunk off of style of drink. Its also expensive.

Can anyone give me some info on Hennessy or just discuss it? Why is it so big in the hip hop world and should I go pick up a bottle and drink it tonight to look like a G and try something new, or is it all hype and no fun?

 
i've never had it but if its anything like patron way overrated for the price- im not willing to ever pay that much for booze until i have a real job. but if you've got money to blow, by all means let me know how it goes

its a simple equation rappers = black people and hennessey = for black people, therefor hennessey = drink for straight thuggin g's
 
1/2 henny and 1/2 apple juice is delicious condsidering henny is 40% alcohol. also henny is pricey thats why thugs like it.
 
its a cognac. its alright. expensive. i rather just drink whiskey.

but if you do have some cash flow and feel like getting really hammered. buy some henessy and hypnotic. mix em up. its called the mean green. dont share it.

that said it cost like 70 bucks to do that. so its not really worth it.
 
Felt like bumping this up, bought it a while ago and I really liked it.

Well I had some left and I had heard that if you mix it with Hypnotiq, it turns green. Well I don't have hypnotiq, so I mixed it with blue gatorade and added some lime juice and it turned green and it was delicious and balla as hell.
 
the only rapper i know that likes henn is 50 and hes not a rapper therefore henn is not all that cool. its a drink for 50 haha
 
I didn't read anything, but my answer is that 1) its fucking fantastic and 2) there is just some weird hype thing with the rap culture (god I feel like a bitch saying that).
Henn XO and better is gettin super yummy. I like VS on the rocks or with red bull, but anything better, give it to me warm and in a snifter so I can smell that shit.

generally the equation for things rappers like is;

rappers, generally brought up poor( not tryin to be racist, its just the facts...) so, taking that into consideration.

rappers=loaded=buy nice/expensive things=because they couldnt before=rap about it because they are rappers=white boys like us hear about it=we wanna sip henny, and be ballassssss
 
It's because hennessy rhymes with Tennessee, and Tennessee is in the south, therefore Hennessy is for black people, plus they like to grip and sip.
 
it gets you fucking drunk but it tastes like shit, to me anyways. unless you have a tates for shit like that dont waste your money. its like telling the difference between a 15 dollar bottle of mine and a 50 dollar bottle of wine
 
Hennessy is delicious and a really wild drunk for sure. I've only gotten drunk on just henny a couple times and its always a real good time. Henny on the rocks with a splash of coke is real good.
 
"VS" Cognac, which is the only cognac you can get for less than $50, is not very good. Its kind of like the "Smirnoff" of Cognac, or a $12 bottle of wine. Nice stuff is at least 200, and you can spend thousands.

Unless you already have a taste for wine and feel like being extravagant, cognac isn't really worth the money.

It dates back to like the 40s and the jazz era and stuff black people were into cognac. I only know this because I once wondered the same thing.
 
If you're still thinking about trying Hennessy I would strongly advise you to try KC Tea. It's a perfect summer time drink but I'm sure it can help you with some Christmas Sprit too.
