Why do people try and quantify skiing?

there is so many posts about this and they all bug me. "who is the best?" what trick looks best, what grab looks best. what kind of style looks best.

In my opinion these questions defeat what i love about skiing. Its awesome that there is no best skier, and i feel that there is never one best way a trick should look or how skiing should be.

its true, there is no one way a trick HAS to be done or no pro who SHOULD have won. the words HAVE SHOULD and HAS TO should all be bannedfrom skiing.

It's human competitive nature to quantify things. It pushes people to get better and try new things. Quantifying things is great until it becomes no fun. So just don't worry too much about it.

I know what this is all about. your jealous because your not the best. I see through your little game. if yu cant be the best then no one is the best.

it is getting annoying, like theres the kids who were saying it first as a joke and its their shit but its caught on so much...i used to say it as a joke too but then everyone around me and their mom started saying it.

yeah, but then everbody does the SAME hard trick instead of doing ones no one has ever seen.

i hate how important "style" is, because now you dont have unique style, you have awesome style, forced style, or shitty style. i think style should be relaxed. i mean obviously you shoud grab, and such, but i think if there are as many truck drivers in the videos next year as i think there will be, i might die.

its about smoking crack, and sitting in the woods...then eventually skiing down whilest recreated, animated, resurected familes of gummy bears are running along the hills in the distance....god bless oxycodones
