Why do people think skiing is lame

have you EVER seen some gay slung backflip in the park by a snowboarder? I can tell you plenty of times when i've seen skiers do them....

 
Shit all I can say is 'skiers are assholes' we started this shit, then snpwboarders took over. we're bitter now and thats why it sux. also if some dood wants to learn a new trick and ask's you to teach him, teach him without any bullshit. thats the other reason skiing sux, there's no supprt from skier to skier... or very little of it anyways.

JUST GIVE 'ER!!!
 
Could be or i might just live where all the snowboarders kinda suck. Most of the snowboarders that are good around here don't throw straight backflips often.

 
i see. i guess mostly what i'm saying is: given a large jump, many not that great skiers can toss some pretty ugly tricks over it, but the only snowboards doing tricks over it usually look better doing it because they are actually good. the problem i see with skiers is that many of them just try to progress to fast and end up making the sport look kind of haphazard and dumb.

 
I felt that way last season, but towards the end I figured I would just dial in my 3's and get some more confidence on larger jumps. I am pretty good at rails, so I stick to the jib gardens. But then again, who isnt good at jibbing. But yeah, its like skiers have way to much confidence and look gay throwing penciled 3's over a twelve foot table and coming up short, and everyone has done something like that at least once in their life.

i dont get that. I respect snowboarders but they dont seem to respect skiers. All the people that dont respect the other snowrider just sucks and is tryin to get some attention. If some snowboarder says 'skiing is lame' tell them to lick your balls and go eat some more shit. There is no reason to same one or another is lame because all it is is a personal prefrence what you like and what they like so there is no argument for it except...Skiing kicks ass!!!

Well I just think the boarders are jealous cause skiing is getting more attention now than it ever has. When snowboarding started it got way more attention than ever did. Now that jibbing and riding in the park are the new thing no skiing is getting alot more attention. If you read Powder they bag on boarders all the time.

The sport feeds on itself. In the late 70s and early 80s when I first started skiing it was all the rage. In the mid to late 80s Snowboarding came along and took some of the hype away from skiing. In the late 90s and the early part of the millineum jibbing and riding in the park was the new thing so its getting all the attention now. Skiing has come full circle and if snowboarding ever dies out we'll still have skiing. Ive skiied with alot of snowboarders but most of the ones I knew werent a$$holes they did it because they liked it which is how it should be with anything. If it weren't for skiing there wouldnt be any snowboarding and if it werent for snowboarding there wouldnt be half the moves in the park that you see. Thats what is a good thing about skiing its much more versatile and creative than snowboarding will ever be.

When those guys tell you how gay skiing is just tell em: 'If it were easy it would be called snowboarding'. Or 'the only snowboarders I know are the ones that failed at skiing'.

Theres truthfully alot of ex-boarders out there that now ride skis because skiing is the inthing to do again. They will never admit that they use to ride a board though.

Every area is a little different but I thought that the boarders vs. skier thing ended awhile ago.

Theres dumbass skiers and theres dumass boarders but I dont have anything against either.

i think the reason snowboarders think skiing is gay is because they dont know many skiers who can through down plain and simple, just like we rag on snowlerbladers because they all suck for real.
