Why do people buy fake Red Bull New Era hats??

I'm sorry after reading about the ridiculous amount of people buying and selling fake Red Bull New Era hats I have to ask the question of why?

The reason that Red Bull New Era hats are so legit is because they do NOT sell them to anyone, they only give them out to their sponsored athletes. What do you say to people when they ask you where you got the hat? Do you tell them that it is a fake one or do you just lie and say that you are sponsored by Red Bull. I'm just curious because both of them sound pretty retarded. Also, the more and more fake Red Bull hats that are sold out there, the less and less legit they become until they are just a stupid fad that no one cares about.

For example... I saw someone on campus with a hat on yesterday and the first thing that came to my mind wasn't "Oh shit I never knew that a Red Bull athlete actually went to my school," but rather... "Oh I wonder where he bought that fake hat from." Just wondering if anyone else is starting to feel this way...

Two question for you How do you know it fake, and why would they make fake Red Bull New Era Hats?

I didn't know they made fake Red Bull hats, and I want to know where I can get my hands on one of them.

they make you look good but u gotta beable to back it up witch most people cant. (also same with people that put red bull stickers on the helmet and cant ski worth shit.

HAHAHAHAHA

How did advertising get to the point where people weren't 'worthy' to rep a companies hat? If I wanna wear a Line skis shirt, do I have to be pro?

Oh... another thing... to the people that do wear them... I actually work for Red Bull and have witnessed this first hand...

If you get caught wearing a fake Red Bull hat by a Red Bull employee, they have every right to call you out on it and take it away from you.

I don't know I just don't personally see what the big deal is with them. If you aren't a sponsored athlete, then you certainly didn't earn it. I just don't understand why a sport filled with people trying to be original and authentic would try to label themselves as something that they are not simply to try to look "cool."

I don't know, I was bored and have always wondered why people bought them that's all.

Redbull is cool

New Era's are cool

Kids want cool stuff

see where i'm going with this...

I don't understand why anyone would want one period. most people have no clue why you would be wearing one, apart from the fact that you seemingly really like redbull. it turns you into a walking advertisement, too.

not my cup of tea I guess. to each their own though. I don't even like redbull, coffee is way better and redbull isn't really acceptable for the 18+ set in my opinion.

because they like how they look and don't give a shit if hater's like you want to rag on them? do you're own thing and quit giving a shit about other peoples judgements dude

dude call me out fine, touch my hat and i would merck you. are you serious? not all of us on this site are 14 year olds who are scared of adults. fuck that call the cops if you have such a big issue with it...every right my ass. if i paid for my fake ass hat then you can just sit there and talk shit, you cant touch me.

assault

A crime

that occurs when one person tries to physically harm another in a way

that makes the person under attack feel immediately threatened. Actual

physical contact is not necessary; threatening gestures that would

alarm any reasonable person can constitute an assault.

battery

A crime

consisting of physical contact that is intended to harm someone.

Unintentional harmful contact is not battery, no mater how careless the

behavior or how severe the injury. A fist fight is a common battery;

being hit by a wild pitch in a baseball game is not.

if im damaging red bulls reputation that much then send there corporate lawyer down; id be willing to compromise then

Because Red Bull is a sweet company that supports skiing, something I also support. And if you saw me in public wearing a fake one I would tell you to lick the underside of my mother fucking dick because I paid good money for it, fake or not.

dude, you don't get it. It doesn't work like that with your assault and battery shit. It is within redbulls rights to take an item impersonating their company. You've zohnerized yourself acting like redbull has beaten the shit out of you when 1. you are wearing an article of clothing that is of a counterfeit design, i bet using patents without permission, and some other stuff that I don't feel like bringing up right now. Yet somehow you feel that you should rep a company who you know is publicly against what you are doing. I don't get it.

instead of flaming the shit out of you, im going to try and be clear.

if you are serious then you have a lot to learn about law in america. You cannot touch people, no matter what.

Say there was a red bull tent full of sweet sweet red bull new eras, and i ran in and took one then went running away. Then you have the right to stop someone for stealing.

If im walking down the street wearing a fake or real red bull new era, IT IS NOT A RED BULL EMPLOYEES DUTY TO TAKE IT BACK, NO MATTER WHAT THE COMPANYS POLICY IS. If said employee was to touch me, it would be assault and battery. Dude, you dont understand. im an EMT and if someone is DYING in front of me and they are of sound mind to decline treament and i so much as listen to their lungs it can be construed (and has been) as assault and battery.

Regardless of the legal aspect, dont you think that its a little ridiculous that this kid started the thread to talk shit, then waited for someone to respond, then acted hard and said red bull employees are going to start jumping out of fucking red bull helicopters like a red bull swat team to get their hats back?

And i understand the idea of the hats being proprietary, its just that i was walking down the street and somebody walked up and lifted the hat off my head, that person would be arrested if i wanted to press charges.

^I agree with this guy. You don't see Apple employees coming up to kids and snatching all the fake iPods they have. I'm going to buy a Red Bull hat now in hopes that some douche bag, RB employee, scenester confronts me about it. There's honestly no way Red Bull is telling it's employees to steal fake hats from kids, even real ones for that matter. BTW, those hats are real New Eras, it's just the Red Bull logo that is different.

maybe...just maybe people wear fake red bull hats because (GET THIS!!) they like them. i know, fucking crazy right. so you say people who wear red bull hats are stupid because they aren't good enough to be sponsored by them...so why wear them right?

i take it you ski...so do you manufacture your own skis? i doubt you are sponsored so you aren't good enough to use line, armada etc. skis, so how do you ski? it's obviously TOTALLY gay to do it unless you're sponsored right.

shut the fuck up.

Fat fucking chance. I'd like to see a lawyer win that one. Go after the companies/indivuals making the hats, not the people wearing them. You know how many fakes of EVERYTHING are made in china? You don't see Louis Vuitton employees walking around taking girls bags away from them. I know Red Bull surely has some hardcore lawyers themselves, but unless they are accompaning said employees around on the streets with legal documents in hand, you can pry my hat away from me in court.

Its not that i don't agree with you its that i disagree behind the mentality of the people who do these things. It's set in stone law vs. what is actaully happening. I say why get caught up. Take you're dying man example, I'm a lifeguard, i know mignon, and my instructor mentioned the people how decline treatment and then sue because someone wanted to do the right thing and helped them. I find that to be utterly ridiculous to try to sue someone who did against the will of the person save their life. Honestly, I find that to be fucking bullshit, somehow doing the right thing is wrong. Come to this example, just getting yourself caught up with redbull. A company that is well known for taking fraudulent items. Why get yourself caught up in the first place when your 55 dollars can go somewhere better?

lol at all the people here getting all defensive because they're wearing a fake red bull hat.

It's "fake" because a lot of people give the hat design to to new era and new era just stitches it out then the people sells them for a profit without supporting red bull. If you're buying a red bull hat, chances are you're giving money to a chinese person.

besides, only sponsored athletes get all the swag. why would you want to pose as a sponsored athlete when you're not. Tools.

If they don't want your help then let them fucking die, I see no issue. There are enough people on this planet as it is, the death of a sue happy leech is something to celebrate.

Dude, why get caught up? Im not caught up in shit. Im just a regular ass dude who wears his hat around to partys and shit.

I absolutely agree that its ridiculous that people sue later for lifesaving care; however, people of a sound mind have a complete and utter right to have a say over what happens with their own body. Im not going to get into this one.

And ive never had a problem with red bull employees over my hat. A friend of mine is a event organizer, and the hot ass red bull girls i had a threesome with were wearing my hats while a hit it from behind. (not true about the red bull girls).

What im saying is get a fucking life nothing will EVER happen over my red bull hat. You worry over this red bull hat shit and i wonder how many stolen songs are on you computer? Do you go to bed at night and lose sleep over that? I didnt think so. ...

All the other haters, dont take the high road about "reppin companys", or "giving money to a chinese person". I dont put too much thought into the ethics of red bull, and i dont care that much.

And do chinese people not deserve money? Asshole. If they made my fake shit then they get my real money. They are not involved in this grand moral debate. Dont bring politics or racism in here.

they didn't make anything, they just gave the design to new era and they make em. They're basically making money by doing nothing.

Someone's defensive he's not a legit red bull athlete.

its just a fucking hate jesus. the kid is probably just jealous cause he saw some kid with a fake redbull hat but he couldnt find out where to get one.

yea he's jealous of a fake redbull hat that you could find easily any day on ebay, you figured him out well buddy.

Redbull does a lot for this sport and I think that means a lot to certian people on here. Moreso then some basbeall team they dont really care about (coughyankeescough)

this thread reminds me of 14 year old girls gossiping about each other's Limited Two clothes.

....wear whatever you want, and don't preoccupy yourself with what other people choose to wear....? right?

that's fair enough i suppose, i guess i just feel better rocking something that's not counterfeit as well.

and fuck repping yankees shit

yeah understood...its just that its a popular thing to hate on stuff thats hard to come by i think. red bull hats have gotten such a thrashing recently. all im saying is relax, its just a hat im rocking, its no more ridiculous than me reppin Forum (which i have two new eras of). Young kids telling stories of the red bull boogieman coming to repo their hats. no. that doesnt happen.

haha.

no one is allowed to take your hat off of your head. even if its a red bull hat. thats theft, doesnt matter if your a red bull employee. it doesnt put you above the law.

i would fucking snap if i had a red bull hat on and some guy claimed he worked for red bull and tryed to take it. even if he did work for red bull i wouldnt care. i wouldnt give him it.

yo clipse05 chill out and dont get so worked up...who the fuck cares if someone wears a red bull hat bro its just advertisement...im sick of these type of threads

You're an absolute fucking moron. Did it ever occur to you that people buy Red Bull hats because they LIKE THE WAY THEY LOOK? Who are you to assume that someone is 'posing' as a sponsored athlete? I know it's an absolutely ridiculous principle and pretty difficult for your feeble mind to grasp but some people actually buy things because they like the way they look, not to pretend they're something they are not.

i think if you steal an authentic red bull hat off an athlete and get away you can wear it. They just need to stop making fakes because then the guys that steal the hats from the redbull athletes look like the bums that actually buy them. Redbull hats can't be bought, either stolen or given to you.

i will say that i like red bull hats, but going through all the effort to get a knock off might not be worth it

if what you are saying here is true, if you wear, lets say a quiksilver hat for example, and you arent sponsered by them, you dont have the right to wear it?

im with you in the fact that the MANUFACTURING of the fake hats are stupid, but if you bought the hat, its yours, and not redbulls to take away. what they should do is set up what oakley has(dont know if they already do) and have something that you can report counterfeit shit, and then its your decision if you wanna give your fake hat to them or not.

this might be cutting it way too close to, but if the logo is different than the registered logo that redbull has, do they even have a right to take it away? because if its "fake" then it would have to be different than the registered logo? like forget the other laws that make them not able to take your hat away. just curious.

. illegal to sell a companies shit thats fake, but not illegal to use/wear it, and theres no law to give it to them, or have it taken

I don't even understand why people buy the real ones. They look retarded.

and now we get all over print submissions for the NS tee contest. To each their own, but I prefer keep it simple, I don't want it to look like NS puked it's logo all over my tee thank you.

Red Bull doesn't sell hats to the public because they want to attract athletes by giving them limited apparel. I believe Red Bull has the right to sue companies who infringe on their copyright laws. Taking bootleg hats off kids heads is a little ridiculous; calling them out = I don't see whats wrong with it.

If people really wanted to support Red Bull they wouldn't buy fake hats. It hurts the company because it makes it harder to attract the athletes that you guys love. Why would Sammy want to rock a hat that everyone else has.

As for the moral issue, I believe that no one should support illegal bootleg anything (but that is a whole other thread).

And as for the cool issue, well thats personal prefrence. I would definitly rock an official Red Bull hat if I could get my hands on one, but now that so many people are wearing fakes its just pointless. And when people asked about it, I would just say that Red Bull is a sick company that sells gross tasting energy drinks.

are you saying that if redbull went to an athlete and offered a sponsorship they would say no because they saw a bunch of kids wearing fake redbull hats?

OR

are you saying that selling fake hats hurts the company financially?

because thats not true.
