Why do Park Skiers wear bandannas on ther faces, even in the Summer?

because just like in any professional sport image is part of the package. you gotta have that swagger, bandanas help yo face, your hideous face if your hideous, ha. plus if your like me you just get fabrics and cut them into bandana size squares ha. i got all sorts of fabrics. an if your in a gang you establish your crew as well. gangsta. haha. and as far as the skiing being gangster dont be a fag, do whatever you want, if you dont like big clothes or style with your skiing an want to wear race suits or smedium size suits do it.. dont post bulletins on NS asking why skiing is so gangster. hah.

this is ... mo'money in the bank.. gang green season starts now...

since when is a bandana gangster anyway? didnt cowboys wear them to rob banks and trains and shit first and then dirty niggs turned it into thugin representin bloodin

I wear it for wind and sunblock. I used to wear sunscreen, but my lips still get so wrecked that I get giant cold sores, and chapstick don't help, so I wear dem.

Bandanas-

Protect from wind burn.

Protect from Sunburn.

Protect from Chapped lips.

Look gangsta.

I leave it around my neck part of the day to get some tan without roasting. I go about half and half with it around my face and on my neck. That way I don't get a face of burnt chicken but I still get the goggle tan.

so the general consensus is the Bandanna protects against sunburn, windburn, and cold, even though cotton is not wind resistant or moisture resistant.

Amongst most the replies it is for style, "cuz park skiers are baller!" WTF?

Neck gators, face masks, proper fabrics help with the function, but make sure you have the new modern steeze and wear big clothes to go with your "baller steeze".

Thank you for your participation. I especially enjoy all the posts that said skiing is not gangster. Rock the "baller steeze" though, "that shit is so hot right now!"

Yeah, when I went to Windells My lips got burned just a little, even thought I had sunscreen and I put more on at lunch, and I wore Zinka. By the third day on the hill my mouth pretty much exploded in the nastiest cold sore attack I have ever experienced.

gaiters are so comfy and warm for the winter. only time I use a bandanna is when it's too warm for a gaiter but I still want to block the wind. and even then it's just a plain dark blue or black one. I never understood how skiing got so gangster. I don't rock anything with an X in front of it and my pants are held on with a belt. I'm not into rap music, I like reggae a bit but that's more of something I picked up from surfing, not skiing. but hey, to each their own I guess I suppose it will end and then something new will begin eventually.

because it creates less drag and makes them go faster for.. races. as well as protects them during falls with some crazy technology they put into them that I don't know much about because I don't race but makes them worth tons of money.

why is the sky blue? why are boobies good? cuz it just is.

seriously i never wear one tho, but i would guess becuase it looks cool

ah..but so does sunscreen and chapstick

nothign get better than carrying that stuff around

and it doesnt freeze when you breathe on it

silk bandanna=baller status

see?

i dont mind gog tan but i hate wind burn and chapped lips so i choose the days that i wear them. i also dont like how on really cold days the bandana gets wet then freezes

So your face doesnt turn into a scab.

I understand chapstick and sunscreen, but when i didnt wear a bandanna my face would peel from the wind.

Sun protection. Same as the ragheads they kick down the hole at the beginning of 300. Those guys were riding horses across the hot desert and they had bandannas on their faces. Protecting themselves from the ravages of the sun, just like skiers skiing in the summer heat.

yeah when i was at hood my face got burnt so bad from out using sun screen my face was like felling for a coulpe of days.

Some of the cool kids at my mountian let there bandanas hang from there pockets in there pants. And the really cool kids tie it around there legs by there boot. I totally wish i were cool enough to do it.

"cotton not wind resistant" my ass. Anything you put over your face is wind "resistant" and it just so happens that tightly woven cotton bandanas are resistant enough to make it comfortable.

It's a style too. Why do you wear the shirts or pants you wear? because it's a style that you like. many people like wearing bandandas. They are practical and stylish.

This is a thread so that you can make a reply attempting to belittle people based on how they dress. I thought someone like you, who has been part of the ski industry and newschoolers for a while would be over this stupid "your style is pointless, mine is better because of my opinion on the matter" bullshit.

Get over it. people will wear what they want

when its super cold or the snowguns are blasting ill put a sepia bandanna my dad got from a jacket around my neck, but i really don't leave it up around my face 100% of the time

i wear bandannas sometimes, but when its really fuckin cold i wear what we french call a " cash cou." Its like this tube thing made out of thinsulate, with a rubber band on one end of it. But then average ski day for me is -30.
