Why do my boots feel amazing some days, and others I don't even want to ski?!

Wondering if anyone has some insight/similar experiences.

I have Dalbello Kryptons with the Intuition Liner. I got them from a really trusted shop and was fitted and everything. They felt great at first last season, I loved how they were such a better, tighter fit from my old packed out salomon 1080s. I had good days and bad days though, days where they felt great, days where they sucked.

This year I tried custom footbeds. I had them made and my liners reheated and everything. For about a week they were feeling so solid. I felt my skiing improve from such a good fit, my edges felt so "in tune". But then I started having a roller coaster effect. I always wear the same thin socks and always dry my boots. Some days though my feet would feel so bad, I wouldn't even want to ski. I would loose feeling sometimes. However I can still move my toes a little. I've tried going back to the regular liner, but I feel like I can't flex the boot then or something, the fit doesn't feel at all the same, and I ski like shit. Then I'll put the intuitions back in and all will be gravy for a day or two.. Can't figure it out!

I don't have the answer to your problem, except maybe diet the day before? But I have the same problem. I can go out and feel great, the next day I can hardly ski 30 minutes my feet are killing me so badly. I dunno man, but I share your frustration.

i really have no idea bro, but i feel for ya, i have the same problem. One thing i can think of though is that your feet flucuate. like above diet has a part to do with that, but also so does your sleep and the temperature. like in the morning your feet are more puffy or bulky (maybe its the other way around, i forget) but maybe it has to do with the time of day you ski?

the reason your feet hurt is do to your feet being inflamed, whether from skiing days in a row or other activities mixed in. the best thing to do is ice your feet after a day of skiing, running, or whatever. the days your feet don't hurt is because they're well rested and not inflamed.

yeah man im the same way. ill wear the same socks and have everything tightened the same and one day they fit perfect and feel great and then in two days my heels lifting out, im getting numb, cutting off my blood circulation, and i cant do anything... it sucks

Same boot, same problem. Although I have horrible feet to get fitted, the guy I went to told me I had feet like a hobbit and gave me a ring to through into a fiery mountain...
On a more serious note, I find that undoing the buckles at the bottom of each run and wiggling my feet on the chair really helps on the bad days. On the good ones I just leave em.

i get the same thing with custom footbeds and i realized that when i'm skiing pow and tight trees all day i get pain in my feet but when i'm cruising groomers and not turning a ton it doesn't hurtfor me it has to do with pressure on the outsides of my feet so if it's limited then i'm fine but i still get days that suck because of my feet

try popping a couple advil only on the days you go skiing. this should keep the inflamation down from the day before. ice works well after skiing but in reality, who's going to ice their feet after a day of skiing?

this issue tends to mean that the fit is just slightly too narrow for you. when on groomers you are edging normally and things feel ok but once you get in to pow and in trees, you slide your turns more, pushing/controlling with the outsides of your feet. all it takes is slight stretching or grinding and things should feel money no matter what terrain you are on.

No ice necessary.
