Why do gas prices go up so quickly?

its all about how much oil costs a barrel, and since we lost over 20% of our oil resourses in hurrcain katrina, barrels cost more, hence gas costs more

This year, every trip up to the ski hill will cost me $4 Canadian more than it did last year. That's a 40% increase.

You guys are lucky, though. Here in B.C. if you got your "new drivers" license after October 2003 (I got mine June 2004) you are only legally allowed to have one passenger in your vehicle unless accompanied by an adult (25+) with their full driver's license. The only exception to the one passenger rule is immediate family.

The fine? I think it's $50/additional person and a point on your license. You get like 4 points and your license is gone.

price gouging. i've talked to a couple people that tend oil rigs. they said there is absolutely no shortage of fuel. they have almost a 2 dollar mark up on every gallon of gas.

 
yea it went from 2.60 here to 3.50 a gallon in 2 days...that was yesterday too..its prolly higher by now. but it jumped 60 cents in one night and 30 on the other

actually its backflip time...they do have a reason supply and demand gas is in high demand because the supply is limited at the moment if you go down south right now you're going to see 40 cars in a line to get gas up here we don't have to wait in lines but the supply isn't coming through as easily as it has in the past so therefore with a greater demand and them having supply it doesn't matter if the ymake a profit off of it gas is an elastic thing meaning that its something we will always buy no matter what the price (within reason) until an alternative fuel is discovered gas controls us cacth what im saying?

yea the governer of CT is pissed off at all of the gas station owners. cause they are jacking up the prices sooo much, its not costing them that much. shes definitly going to try and lower the prices here in CT

gas went up from line 3.00 to 3.09 in one day, and then up to 3.45 the next day

SUVs need double the gas as a car. and it seems like there is twice as many suvs than cars these days. so thats plenty of reason to charge more for gas. because people will pay more. im suprised gas isnt 10 dollars a gallon. thats how money works. you fuck someone else to make yourself rich/

20% of oil out the US oil?? wft...have u been living in a cave? the hurricane shut down 90% in of gulf oil production and like 8 major refineries.

also i think one reason why the price went up so fast is that people are not sure how bad it is going to really be and that makes the market unsatable

Well some people actually use SUV's like hmmmm....skiers? Yes i don't think my pussy ass civic coupe will suit me well to hold all my windsurf/ski gear and drive to the ski hill when it's dumped 5 ft overnight in tahoe. It's not going to get me where I go camping. It's not going to get me out on the beach where I go windsurfing. Sure it's good for going to work and drivng between american eagle and juice n java for that $8 triple mocha bitch latee in the morning but sorry guys....I'm not into the whole city bitch lifestyle.

Anyway, a gas station we pass. We got gas, and ran off to get grub.It was a nice little pub in the middle on nowhere. Anywhere woulda been better. I ordered enchiladas and I ate 'em, Ali had the fruit punch.

 
Also oil prices are inevidably gonna increase GRADUALLY because the more oil you take out of a oil well the more expensive it becomes to extract it.

and i think if u get caught with someone, i hear u lose your license for 3 months, im kind of quessing though and basing it on what people have told me. im not sure if it's true. cause i know sum1 who got in a crash with sum1 else in the car and he didnt have his 6 months, and he was driving the next day
