Why do british pros suck so much

Sushi^^, great to hear your view. the subject itself is incidental, but its awesome to read the views of someone who really knows their shit in a thread, rather than drawing on received wisdom or mouthing off with only vague knowledge.

i think the beer arguement can be applied to almost anything- no one country is the best at everything. for example, with skiers like jon, candide and lolo around it would be erroneous to say "America has the best newschoolers". agreed, many but not all of the top guys are from the us.

similarly for big mtn: the us has great athletes like davenport, seth and mcconkey. but thats not to say that the us is the best- kaj zachrisson, seb michaud, manu gaidet, phil meier prove this.

in any case, anal questions like "who's country is best?" simply shouldn't be applied to chilled out past times like skiing and beer...
 
holy moly. there was a guy named ted from the uk who came here this year. he was sponsored by scott, and he ripped it up so hard. Liek switch cork nine double true noses. he was amazing and impressed em everyday. brits officially dont suck.
 
I think Rich (page before this one) hit it on the head. I'm much like him, I love skiing but don't get to ski every weekend, simple fact why: nearest mountain is a 10 hour drive away. I'm lucky to get more than a few weeks in a year. In some ways this makes me want it more, and makes those few weeks more enjoyable, the anticiaption just kills me but when I get into that powder it so good. But yeah things are chaning and travel is becoming easeir so its all good.
 
Great post dallen good to here from someone who thuroughly knows there stuff, i also think that it is pathetic to whinge about a countries skiers when they don't even have snow, if you only could ski in the summer in your country when you didnt have any snow, how good would you be?better than andy bennet? doubt it
 
i'd hav to say paddy is the best UK pro. i mean come on 25 feet out the pipe! Sure he doesnt do a Cork 5 that high like Dumont but Paddy's learnt to ski on Dryslope.

O yeh and i also think there are some UK kids out there that should be sponsered but havent been noticed yet for some strange reason.

Just an idea, how about we try and moderate this. if your really that upset about British people you belive are undeserving of sponcership move to britan and try to get sponcered. and for all the briton on here taking offence at this an lashing out try not to get sucked into the argument, unlike most things in life if you just leave threads like this alone and they will go away
 
haha this thread made me laugh, and realise why i hate american kids who sit behind a computer screen, probably eating some kind of potato chips and in general being fat and impressively single for Eleven Tenths of thier lives.

And now i am waiting for one of them to point something out and feel really smug about themselves, like i didn't put it there for a purpose.
 
well first the most u can ski on in britain is a hill! second if they suck so much then why did Naomi Edmonson (BRITISH)come second in the EUROPEAN open!?
 
another thing the english are good at, hooligans, if you dont shut the fuck up the west ham firm is going to turn up at your house and give you a chelsea smile and stick your tiny tiny balls in your eye sockets as you are about as constructive and inteligent as an american politician
 
YES!!! lets start deciding how good a skier is by how cute he is, man have we been going wroung by deciding by ability.

I think everyone should be well aware of the massive about of stereotyping that goes on in the NS forums. If one person does something.........the entire country does it too.
 
Think about it. Britain's tallest mountain is lower than 4000 feet, and up in scotland.

They are pretty straight lucky to get snow there period...

Also, those guys who do dryslope skiing.. they have fucking cahones... if you can pull even a 360 on that stuff, you are fricken sav, but these guys throw 5's and 7's too.

I personally wish there was a dryslope place where I live in Northern Cal. That way I could go out during the summer months and ski a few dryslope lines, which would be pretty sick, regardless of the fact that its not snow and even when it hurts like a bitch if you fall...(thats why you wear hockey pads or something so it doesnt suck SO bad.)

I give the Brits my total, 100% support in this one. They are having fun with it all and looking pretty dope too.

Plus that drop in thing was innovative as fuck. Wish Americans and Canadians would just stop being intolerant and just open their minds to new stuff out there.

You can't say that 'pros suck', as they wouldn't be a pro if they weren't good enough. Possibly one reason you're not a pro?!?

Anyway a lot of the brits don't just spend all their time in the park. There are a lot of good British Freeriders. Just because you can't spin or flip as many times as someone else doesn't make you a bad skier..

Freeride skiers are generally way better alround skiers than pure freestyle skiers.
 
paddy can do switch cork 10s like its nobody´s business. and hes a brit. so yeh he suck sooooo much i mean come one switch 10s are soooo easy.
 
I heard on little britain that hes from Woking in Surrey, which is where i live, havent seen him downt the pubs though, maybe he lives in peckham now.

NS is full of haters anyways try going skiing once in a while woodland, infact come to the brits next year or the European Open in LAAX and we can see whos better out of us UK skiers or you!!!
