Why do a bunch of the Olympic slopestyle skiers ride ski blades?

i met that lil kid jesper at a cinema in Bergen, Norway. for the Supervention 2. i was a head over him, really believed he was a kid until i saw that he actually had facial hair. all we said was "sorry" cause he bumped my sholder. and pointed at the jibberish logo on my jacket and said, "enjoy the movie." dollo is taller i think. i stood about 2-4 meters away from him. He was short, but not as short as Jesper. +rep for riding the 180 skis though. that's ill

Dollo might be slightly taller as this photo suggests. Jesper is standing straight up, Dollo has slightly bent knee/leaning to one side. (1-2 inches taller, max)

Google says Torin is only 5'2" is that real??? I never would've guessed from watching edits/comps that he was a borderline midget

I don't really like short skis but I'll have to say in Andri's defence that with his height (185cm) you'll already have kind the struggle finding skis bigger than you. Völkl's Walls are up to 185cm long and the Revolts are only been made with 181cm max. So if you look at the podium pic of him with the Revolts, he probabaly had the longest size available there.

He’s been vocal about how google needs to update their stats on him. So no he’s not 5’2

What a stupid point. That's like saying "Geopper has plenty of experience smashing out car windows with rocks so we cannot criticize his ski length". Come on now.

No. It’s like saying “that guy might have short skis, but he throws triples and takes podiums at big comps, so +respect.” I get what you mean, but my point wasn’t stupid.

Because its park. Shorter skis = quicker maneuverability. The only thing those ski's need to do in support a quick G force change and allow the ridder to huck himself into such gyrated manoeuvres. The reason you dont see it everyday ( or at least not at all likely outside the park ) is because the average consumer skier isnt doing slopestyle runs 100 percent of the time on perfect groomed runs. They still have to get themselve to and from the park in a variety of conditions. powder bumps to icy patches. Any one could buy a ski a size down from recommended and have a blast spinning like a top in the park, but try taking them anywhere else and you will have a subpar time. I am aprox. 5'11" and ride a 176 armada Edollo and could never ask for a more perfect all around ski. I see why henrick rides and understand why he designed them this way. Huge tip and tail soft rocker but with stiff camber underfoot making the contact zone feel like a 169 on the groomers, but then when you get into the fluff, the rockers floats you ontop. plus the butters are effortless. In the end, longer ski's = all mountain/park weekend warrior, but shorter ski's = future spins.

Get paid.
