recently tosh peters (pcfreerider) made a post about ninthward opening ski sales online and cko sent him a message that said forums weren't meant for advertising (i thought people would be excited to know). when pcfreerider got the message his brother max was on and told him to fuck off and he could post stuff about ninthward if he wanted to. personally i think that pcfreerider was totally in the right. what do u guys think?

yea i think that it all needs to go all go one way. i mean i made a post like that a year ago for HS, deleted and i got a warning. but then you see all these other threads plugging movies and new clothing lines and other ski gear... i mean ban ALL threads/talking about ANY ski gear (the posts in this thread would be cut in half) or let them ALL go...

skaski is the man just cause he listens to ska which i am doing now, but thats beside the piont pcfreerider rides pc (of course) and park city is just amazing when skiing is push to the max hence he should not be banned and ninthward is the shiz along with 4frnt so he should get like a promotion instead of getting banned.

I think it's ridiculous that people could complain about our moderation policies in this respect. We're all for growing the industry but you can't just create a company and expect to be able to market it for free and use NS, A FREE service to survive. As for Tosh not being an owner, he is a rider for Ninthward and therefore has a interest in seeing the company do well. In addition, the attitude I got from Tosh was definitely not warranted. Some of you guys need to grow up and realize that if you disrepect someone blatantly, you won't get treated well.

I've given Ninthward every chance to contact me or anyone else at the company to work out a fair and equitable deal, but apparently they're not having it. I can't do much more than that.

Look, as far as CK and I know, Tosh has not been banned. Nobody that we know banned him. If he has been banned we will unban him immediately.

We are all about smaller companies coming up in the ranks and becoming larger. If you talk to us, and go through the proper channels, it's not a problem to use our site as a place to advertise.

However, advertising is the ONLY thing that we can sell at this site to make money. Right now, I work at a bike shop just to support this site. We all do. If you think that it is fair for us to put our entire lives into this site, and all of our money, all the while supporting a company that thinks advertising should be free, then that's fine.

We will just have to make it a pay site.

Since we will never do that, as all the staff at newschoolers.com would rather see the site burn in hell than have any of you have to pay to be on it, we must sell something.

If a group of people feels that they have the money to start a ski company, but no budget to advertise it then I am appaled at the business practises of that company.

Our advertising prices are COMPLETELY fair, considering the amount of people that go on this site. It is only reasonable that we recieve enough money to live from companies that are trying to make money.

We will never ban someone for posting comments about a company. If they are poaching free advertising, and taking away my food for the month, then hell yes I will delete their post.

Tosh is a great kid I met at high north this summer, and I wish that he hadn't handled the situation like a little child. Shame on ninthward for taking advantage of us like that.

So, if you want to run a company, then man up and talk to us on a professional level. If you think you have what it takes to succeed in the business world then guess what, it requires some money. We have to pay it. I have to pay it.

I bet ns costs a lot to run. if people coudl advertise for free, all the paying sponsors would just advertise for free. and then ns would make no money and would go offline. stopping 'companies' from advertising for free keeps ns online. what is bad about that

its a fine line between saying good stuff about a copmany and free advertsiing. NS seems really good about not being too picky about this kind of stuff. its such a sick site, we should all be supporting it as much as we can

yea Cko and mdfresh are completely right, as much as i like ninthward, they should stop being pussies and donate to the site, it will help their image and it will make more people prone to buying their shit because they help support something that is near and dear to my heart lol.

they run the site, they invest alot of money into this and they have the right to do what they want. and also they have to make a living and sacrifice alot just to keep this site running, i think i will be donating a ben franklin to this site soon

When the site first started to blow up it was so cheap to advertise that people could buy banners with their names on it. This progression has to be regulated or the site will go to hell. This site was not started to make money of course, but that was when we did not even have a symbol for donators. A lot has changed from those pale blue days. People that have been here for a while realize that the change from the phattim cedric race to legitamate corporate sponsorship has come.
