Why did the 2012/2013 gear thread get deleted?

I asked tom warrnick and he told me that they are working with an invisibility material for the jiberish 2015/2016 drops, he also said that ignant vest will turn into tight, spandex material and will only be around 10 inches tall, really dope
 
so my question is, why have SIA where the public can take photos of gear, and have it not being alright for people to upload it to the interwebs?
 
Agreed. By and large I would say that all my favorite ski media outlets are fucking the dog with their SIA coverage.
 
SIA is not open to the public, but media outlets are allowed to go and take pictures of the gear, ns is doing a shitty ass job of this.

however i could care less because i got to play with all of the gear today.

What don't you like about this years SIA coverage format? We'll have every booth, just spacing them out a little and trying to include more detail and photos than previous years
 
let me ask you this, if i could see all of the gear by visiting a site like freeskier, or i could see some of the gear from certain booths by visiting ns? which site would you go to, to view next years gear?

now you say ns will have all of the gear but i could view all of the gear already.

just my thoughts. i really enjoyed the coverage by day, also had some videos of reps talking about their product.
 
this, last year it was awesome. Just scroll down, peep that days coverage, watch some video introducing new things, like i understand what your guys are doing, just showing as much as possible in different sections ,but for the viewer it kinda just makes it more difficult to see in things we want to see.

and why was the thread deleted? Armada on your asses?
 
I was only finding like 4 booths earlier on here but I mighta been looking in the wrong place...so that's basically my only gripe, I thought the coverage that I could find was pretty good though. Also I haven't been able to find any surface/joystick stuff and this makes me grumpy but that's not really ns's fault.

So first off... you guys are super right. We should have that thread up, and we'll re-post it. Sorry about that! I do think that you guys should be able to post stuff... that is freaking rad. As a matter of fact... we want MOAR.

Now - we do have to be respectful of some companies desires to not have their gear up on the interwebz. In the random posting, a few things go up that they aren't stoked on and we'll have to remove 'em.

AS FOR THIS YEAR'S COVERAGE

Honestly sure we could have done the photo thing only. Seriously though, the only reason we tried to go a little bit deeper, is that we though this community was growing in intelligence and hungering for more than simply graphics on a technical product. I mean sure the graphics are sweet... but that is all a photo shows you isn't it?

We wanted to go the extra distance and try to provide more than simple industry hype of pretty graphics. We wanted to add sustenance. We also were very careful to not just show gear porn, we wanted to show camber, rocker profile, specific features of products, etc.

In response to this though, what we've now done is published all of the photos in the 'ski equipment' gallery, and will continue to do so. This way, you can get your quick photo fix of everything in one spot, as well as having a more in-depth experience in another spot on NS.

We're really hoping that we can cater to a wider audience and give different experiences dependent on what you want. We really want to do things different on newschoolers, and challenge the status quo for the way that things have always been.

Please feel free to make suggestions... we'd absolutely love to work on tailoring SIA coverage into what you guys think is the best possible format.

Shit... why don't you guys start getting in the show with us and helping. :)

 
a single video from each booth would do. i mean, they have a reo there who could talk about the stuff. plus they should know that advertising on NS is a good move.
 
a lot of us actually sent macmahoon an email about helping out.

but seriously i respect what you guys are doing and would really love in depth coverage, but maybe that should come after the show? like a review of the show type deal? with in depth articles about new products and what companies are doing and their plans, just an idea.

also we need to get an ns booth!!!! im sure you could get a bunch of volunteers to help out.
 
next year get the booth for ns and ill help out since ill be in summit i get a hotel in den and get some coverage.................gameplan

 
spread the word about the website, sell add space?

there are so many retarded booths at sia, ns would do well.

did anyone go to the fed ex booth? i got a free coffee this morning.
