I'm super frustrated because i can't spin past 3, i can 3 off a almost anything, but off big jumps i can't speed up my spins, I've been trying 5's off of a 45 foot jump and i can only make it to 3, i pop and spin with my upper body but i don't know what the fuck is wrong with me, any advice would be much appreciated

ps. if anybody's specific help leads to me successfully landing a 5 then i will send you a hat

practice on a tramp...i used to do only 5s then all of a sudden i found out this way that whips me around without really useing my arms and i was 90 degrees off from landing a 10.

like...just try to push your chin as far back as u can like ur trying to get it past ur shoulder and ull fell it...

when you are spinning just keep your head tunred and spin as much as you need the first time but then youll get used to the timing

think of spinning a 3 in the upward half of the peak of your jump like you would if you were trying a 7 and then you will half plenty of time to spot and finish that last 180

Wind up and just huck it a little harder. The first time I got over 360, it was an accident because the jump was a lot bigger than I had expected and I ended up spinning the extra 180 unintentionally. Maybe you should just pretend it's a really tiny jump, and try to spin a three, and then you'll end up going five.

keep looking over your shoulder, and try, as hard as you can, to keep your knees tucked pu for another half a second, adn it should come around.

I would thats because youre mainly afraid of doing any spin past 360, and your body stops you when your in the air for a 540

yeah that was my biggest problem too, one thing that really helped me was to throw a little bit harder and when i knew i was halfway, i made myself turn my head even more until i was looking at the jump and then i landed, basically try to look back up at the jump after you get three sixty, its all in your head

this happened to me all the time last season. its just that maybe youve been doing 3's for a long time and nothing other than them, and youre too used to spinning them. you have to really think about constantly spinning and following through and everything

its probably because you are straigthening your head out when u get three and not turning it again to look for 5. If your head isnt turned your body doesnt turn so just keep your head over your shoulder

NOO dont spot your landing, instead just keep spinning, once you are at like a complete 360 then start looking for your landing, just make sure you dont open up before you do the whole spin. its pretty much all mental.

I doubt this will help, but I had simlar experience. I couldn't spin past 3 for a long time, and then one day I just went to throw a 3, but spun harder than I had expected. I kind of stalled out a little past 3, and then spun to a 5 and landed it. After that I could spin 5's pretty consistantly. Somtimes it just happens by accident.

try and overspin on purpose. and dont spot your landing when youve done 360 degrees, just keep the momentum and spot it after. if that makes any sense, its hard to explain

if you get snowblades you'll look like this..

think about doing a 180 past what ur trying and then ull keep spinning and the ground will come at the right time hopefully. forget about landing regular and just visualize it.

ok you know how when u spot for a 3, you stop ur roation at like 270 then spot ur landing? so do that, except dont stop spinning till like a 3, then spot your landing

try it off a smaller kicker, and really take speed. basically, you want to have already turned your upper body 180degrees before youve left the lip, so once your in the air your legs whip around to follow your body, and then you've already done a 180. this, along with your regular 3 spin should do it. but, other ideas are to start with a super wide stance, and then as you spin the first 180, pull your legs closer together(along with your arms), and this will speed up your spin. FINALLY, if you are comfortable with 360 grabs, then spin like i said above, but reach around to do a crossbody safety as you are in your first 180, and hold it until you are about 450. this will help your body turn. try it on the ground in shoes first, i find that leading spins with your arms on anything help speed it up. O, and remember, its no different then landing a 180, so what is there to worry about. and also remember that if you dont make it all the way, then you will just slide it out, its not like your gonna eat it bad

Haha

I learned by just throwing harder and popping harder. On threes I let the lip do the work but on fives I get into with the knees

there are two ways to do it that i find help progressing my spins.

first if its a small spin try doing it of the ground in just your shoes, get used to spotting the three and then whipping around that 180.

secondly try doing a three with your arms spread out. do a couple of these and then when you think your ready go for the same rotation except pull in your arms. eventually you can do it naturally and then you can throw in the grab.

just always keep ur head spinin in the direction and never stop. ur body will follow and blam, magic, u got it
