Why can't I slide the box sideways?

just do it and don't be scared. you can fo strait then switch to sideways after so you fell it before doing it completly

is it a gaurantee i'll land backwards? i guess im having a hard time letting my self rotate that hard knowing i want to land forwards again. the landing was kinda warn and shady so idk if i'll be legit landing backwards. what do you think? can i still slide sidways and land forwards?

^ yeah u can still land foward, u just have to hit it alot and get the feel of boxes cause they r a little different then rails

keep your skis a little wider than shoulder width, use poles and arms to balance yourself, try not to catch an edge

lol, alright guys thanks for the help. I'll commit and maybe try sliding it faster. I'll post again and let you know how it goes. Thanks for the help.

i was pretty much havin the same problem, im not good by any means but monday i was out for the first time and i was just like fuck it, whats the worst that could happen, so i hit this flat down box and made it almost all the way, it was the first time slidin a box sideways, its not as hard as it seems

Dont worry about landing backwards on a sketch landing. If its dug out a bit, or not, your skis, if center mounted, will plow throw it and you will be fine. Dont worry about the landing just focus on getting on the box.

dont worry about landings ur body will do all the work when ur about to get off but u can try leaning on ur back edges a little

you wont need to detune your edges - the'll effectively detune themselves after you slide a few rails

dude, boxes are simplistic,

hit it slow, but steezey,

going fast makes you look retarded

start turning sideways,

then do a lil 90 back in to regular.

get that down, then go to switch.

then do some 270's off.

soon you'll be king of the box.

just practice.
