ya, skis are too fat, and too short with the exeption of the fat twins now, go to any ski shop and tell then that you ski at *fill in local mountain* and they will sell you a ski that doesnt come past your nose, probly a mid fat, carving ski. I like a longer ski cause they are faster (generalization, i know) but short skis still suck, theres no way around that for an all mountain ski. For spins, a shorter ski is great, less rotational inertia, ie easier to spin, fatter skis are better in powder, easier for landings, but are unnesecarry on groomers. I ski 168 scratches for park only, and 179 fujatives for the whole mountain and jumps. frankly, the fujatives are faster skis, even when both are freshly tuned and waxed, id rather ski a longer ski on the mountain, its just faster..
