But at least Ill help anyone who asks, thats More than I can say for most skiers though.

good question.....i can't throw anything better than a three and i swear i get the ''down the nose'' look from pretty much any skier better than i am.....but maybe it's cuz i ride with a bunch of snowboarders

yah, snooty bastards.

I ski with Boarders too and they try to push me and never give me the evil eye when I have a yard sale for no reason. they just help out and try to give advice. which is what skiiers should do.

Im from CAlgary.

Im a decent skier, nothin special. but I get no support from the skiers around here. just shitty looks when I bail or ask for some help on a new trick. Plus most of my freinds board.

i really doubt its because they are better than you or even that they are skiers. some people just suck. forget about them, and be who you know you should be.

I think all the skiiers I've met have been pretty cool. I figure if you look at other people with respect they'll give it back for the most part.

just fuck everybody else. I used to get attitude from kids when I skierd at Stowe. Nobody was ever really a dick or anything, but there was like a group of skiers and me and like my 3 friends. In colorado, everyone is a dick...especially at Breck or some of the Summit resorts. Fuck the world.

 
Nah, I feel it too. Some skiers just have this, 'I'm better than you are' thing going on.

I know what you mean. But most snowboarders I know are totally cool with skiing. In fact, alot of the ones I go with prefer watching skiing instead of snowboarding. And one of them spends half his time teleing.

dude, i too have really noticed the hostility between some skiers man. but i ski europe and it so depends on which resorts u go 2. there's a resort in france called courchevel and there r so many stuck up fuck wits there that wouldn't piss on u if u were on fire. but there r other resorts wit more passionate and die hard skiers that want to push the sport and hav a community so everyone is behind everyone. so i'll conclude that this bitchiness is caused by unsociable, unpassionate and boring skiers.

There comes a time in life when one must risk something or sit forever with one's dreams.
 
nah, most of the guys I know are pretty friendly with eachother, but maybe thats because of the vast quantitys of alcohol that we consume

i dont think were all dicks.. i just think some of the insecure people who are afraid to rip w/ the boarders tend to get defensive and assholelike... but everyone i ski w/ is chill, and we keep it fun...

I find that the ass holes are usually the kids who can only do 360s, and some rails, and are threatened by new faces in the park. The guys who are really throwing down hard are usually pretty chill. I also think skiers have a big self-esteem problem, especially in parks where snowboarders are supposed to be, and they like to think of themselves as rebels who are the only people on earth doing what they do, and when they see someone else, they want them to leave.

Its not necessarily skiers, its just people in general. Some are chill, some are dicks. I love it when I lay out a nice yard sale, and you have boarders and skiers cheer for you because you were at least trying something cool. Makes me feel good:)

i only get problems from snowboarders screaming shit to me from the lifts witch is ok cause there dick holes any ways

I think its different at different resorts obiviously. I mean a smaller resort will have a smaller core of newschoolers and they will all stick together cause they are such a minority, but bigger places like whistl and breck theres soo many skiers that everyone tends to stick with only a couple good skier friends they kno. So people act differently towards each other, not really negative just different than a smaller resort.

Word to that LineSkiNJ. I ski at a hill that is generally small and its only my group of friends that do the freestyle thing. NOw and then there is some friendly competition but most of the time its all cool. Its kinda cool when all these little kids look up to you, and the adults are interested because they have never seen a skier lay down a carve switch or do rail and jump like we do. For us the problem is in canadian snowboarders that come from across the border. Some of them, are cool, but alot are asshole. MOst boarders i ski with are cool.

Hey everybody trixsterphil has got it right! Unpassionate, Unsociable, boring skiers are the ones who are ruining the sport. If you are going to be that way than keep it to your self and stay out of the way of the progression of skiing. Skiing should be be very passionate and a sociable event. A great way to meet new people and help eachother out. Because remmember we ALL at one time use to be bunny slope skiers. So next time you see a begginer in a massive yard sale, dont get mad but just smile or help him collect his gear. They all look up to you; so be nice and they will get better and also in turn help with the PROGRESSION of the sport.

i think its the dominate personallity in newschool skiiers. I tend to stick to myself, which may make me seem like a dick.

 
It's so true, we all seem like dicks. I see snowboarders getting along all the time and our egos are just too big to all fit on the hill. It seems like alot of us are afraid that somebody is going to be better. Also I'm the same as the guy above, I might seem like a dick because I don't really want to meet any new skiing people.

 
Yea, its the same here in New Zealand, if you're not good, then youre looked at, as bieng the filmer guy, me and my friends make fun at them back, were like HOLY SHIT! dont worry man, were not cool enough to do the jump, our life, its just not worth living HOly shit! and all the guys at the jump feal guilty,its cool.....

But yea, its the same, but i've noticed the S'bers arnt like that, they're supportive to each other...
