Why are skiers from nordic countries so good?

im convinced everyone from nordic countries has the natural born ability to ski and throw tricks that should only be possible in video games

probably much lower costs to actually participate in the sport + night skiing on real mountains which really helps

Finland has a cultural concept called Sisu, it is defined as follows:

"It is a term for going beyond one's mental or physical capacity, and is a central part of the country's culture and collective discourse."

So when you see a Finnish bro doing dub 12's in the dark when it's -20 degrees and ask yourself, how? They are just hardbodied on a cultural level. Pretty sick.

soooo pretty much like Finnish core?

all jokes aside that is fucking badass

Because places like Finland literally have a tiny resort with a park like every 30 minutes across the country and the passes are cheap (I paid 169€ for a season pass). Plus, parents just drop the kids off at the park after school. It’s not a thing in Finland to “not go outside because of weather”. You will literally see kids of all ages playing in -20f weather in their snowsuits. I’ve never seen so many kids in a park in my life like I did in Finland. They have a very active culture that promotes it
