Why are racers such assholes?

Most people on this site would agree that racers are fags. It not just the way they dress but their attitude blows! I have a lil bit of respect for their skills, cuz lets face it, you have to be good at skiing to race. But that doesnt mean that everyone who is good has to race. i hate how they look at everyone else as being second class and they think they own the hill. yesterday i was skiing and some racers were trainiing. thered be like 2 racers in front of me and my gf in the liftline. then theyed keep coming and just standing beside eachother and soon there were atleast 20 of them. i only took that once. next time i started to ask them to go to the back, cuz i was there before them. theyd call me a fag and make fun of my twins. i was soo fucking close to punching them in the face! WHy are they so obnoxious, cocky and assholes?
 
You do have a point, but it's not just racers. Read the following from someone else's perspective.

dude yeah i race for my school (don't get me wrong freestyle is way better)but i practice on my twin just cuz i don't wanna fuck my race skis at my shitty ass mud hill. and some other racers we shard the course with are like wtf why are u on stupid twin tips i'm like hey don't worry about i smoke u in all the races anyways and they just shut up
 
yeah but most of the better park skiiers are chill and cool to be around with and have decently fun personallities.. The poser park rats pretend to be cool, but he's right..for some reason most (not all) racers are stuck up and arrogant... the really good racers feel like since they can just bomb a moutain really qucikly, they are supieror.. while the good park skiers are alwaus jsut chill

where do you ski, all the racers i meet arent assholes, but they arent saint either, they still are annoying sometimes, it all depends who coachs them i think
 
they arent mean or antying just hella annoying in the way they act, ski, and dress. honestly who wants to watch people turn in skin tight pants and with skis that go up to their nipples
 
The reason most racers are assholes because it is a timed sport where the slightest mistake or a change in the win could cost them there race. I mean imagine if you would lose a big air comp. By .03 points because a gust of wind came up and made you land on the knoll. Racers are assholes because they have to be to be good and to loose their focus.
 
cause when you race you need to get the most training runs in a day, so sometimes you poach the liftline. maybe you onlny have 2 hours where you get a lane on the hill, the park will be there all day. and that is also a huge generalization, not all racers act like that, half the racers at tremblant rip park better than most the kids in there. so basically, dont generalize an entire cross-section of people based on the actions of 20 kids, stop using fag as a derrogatory term, and fuck off.
 
i hate older rich people on the mountain more they always profile you because you have twins and think that your automatically a punk and then they act like assholes to you
 
are u all serious.. its more than a generalization.. i cant say all.. but most racers are more stuck up than park skiers.. thats something everyone can agree on. and which do you think requires more skill?
 
thos kids spend there time going down the hill as fast as they can wishing that they had twin tips and were park riders except they are too scared to swap over. so they make fun of us to make them feel better and seem like racing is better
 
watching somebody go really fast doesn't impress me. but watchin somebody go huge and throw a spin will make anyone's jaw drop, maybe they're just envious cuz wearing spandex and using lame ass equipment can't be too rewarding
 
ok.. ive come up witha generlized theory that wont apply to all but it makes sense.. both racers and park skiers are all at least decent skiers, and so those who are perfectionists and who like to repeat things over and over again go to racing, because it require that, and those that like to just chill out and hang with friends and do some differnt types of skiing do park.. which is why the racers seem more stuck up. there justpeople who are more perfection seeking, while park rats are just more layed back people who dont care enough about perfection to race
 
and then another day i was working as my hill as an instructor and i was going up with a racer. he asked me if we even had to be good at skiing to teach here. i said well u have to pass your CSIA level 1 to work here, so there is a standard. he said o really, cuz it looks like u guys all blow at skiing. i said, 'you know the funny thing here. your payin to be here and do this, and im getting paid to do it. the rest of the ride was silence.

or get stoked on there race skis and be like "OMG U HAVE RAPTOR CLAWS ON THE FRONT!....I WISH I HAD RAPTOR CLAWS!"

my friend ski races and he has t-halls and the ski team mocks him for it haaha

but he is cool there are some cool ski racers
 
there ego's suck...but i look forward to the races at my hill cause if they talk shit u can have fun and screw aorund with them(thoruginh snow balls at them and such)
 
your a fucking idiot. you have no idea about racing at all, its not about repetiotion any more than freestyle is. how many times do you try a threesixty before you can get it perfect, then how many times do you do it after that? how many times do you slide your parks rails in a day? every race course is different and requires a different adaptation of technique to ski it. i think if you've never raced you cant make a valid point about its merrits or its downsides, your just talking out of your ass. and i know plenty of park skiiers who arent decent skiiers. how many kids do you see struggling to ski through the park and not even hitting anything? if you suck at a race its fairly obvious, so the general calibre of people who race is always at a closer level than park skiing. and also racers pay way more money to use the hill than you do, so give them a break.
 
yea the ones at my mountain always use the ski school line even though they arent sopposed to, but all the old as fuck ski instructers think that racing is great so they dont say anything

.....beat the piss out of all of them, you ski park so you can take them.

some good race insults:

-you must really suck for your poles to be bent that much

- whered you get those shinguards, I need some new ones for soccer

-your tight suit makes your ass look big

-you have no balls

.also I like to ski the race course switch when they arent really using it but are standing there(dont tell them that, just do it)
 
well they are usually rich and go to private clubs in collingwood and there for think they are king shit

i once had one tell me i sucked a park cuase i fell off a rail so i said you try it... he popped on my skis and fell on his chest on it i took my skis and laughed at him
 
ya they are pretty gay. this is how i get back at them for ruining the jumps and rails.

1. Find out where they sit in the lodge find there bag.

2. Go down to the ski school and get a hand full of zip ties.

3. ziptie the bag to the back of the chair so they cant go newhere. Then go through the bag zip tieing everything together.

ive done it once proly the funniest thing it the work seeing this kid flip shit when he saw it
 
not here, all the racers here know me and they have respect for everyone, except one group but ive never had any encunters with them, and if i ever did they would listen to me cus i can manipulate through fear with little white kids
 
I agree some racers do poach lines and act like jerks but at my mountian it seems it's more of like the 13-14year old racers that are the worst. I've noticed that this whole thing racers verse freestylers is kinda like snowboarders verse skier a couple years ago. In my opinion though i think it's some people are just jerks and there's probably freestylers that are jerks to but ithink for the most part as someone brought up above racers sometimes only have certian time frames to get places all we have is when the lift opens and closes.
 
considering i raced for a while before going stopping to just free ski i'd say ur the idiot... i wud think i have some "idea of racing".. ask any racer.. and dont make stupid comments that make you look dumber.

racing's only goal is creating a perfect run, which will get you the best time. You dont race as a reall fun acitvitie, where your just chilling at the slopes.. you are focused on perfecting your line.

park is just being with friends and trying things. If i dont get something right, no beef, Im just glad I am having fun. I dont ski to win

so please refrain from making dumb comments about others intellegence when your the one who is obviously less knowladgeable than everyone else

I doubt there's many racers who get together on websites to call terrain park skiers names, so tell me again who the "assholes" are?
 
ok, yes some racers are dicks who flaunt there talent and poach lines. Im a instructor at my hill so when i see this happen, il either bitch them out, or worst come to worst if they are really pricks, il take there pass to the racing director. but on the flipside, i race, and pretty freaking good at it, just check the nastar rankings, 1st national overall. what it comes down to is a conflict of perspective. racers see freestyle as retarded, we see racing as gay, so have at it what you will.
 
they can act cocky and make fun of you becasue they know that if something starts then they can just turn arround and ski faster then pretty much anyone else...bastards
 
exactly, except im usually the asshole in the line, loud . obnoxious but i dont make fun of people. unless they are my friends.
 
exactly^ ive been skiing nothing but freestyle for the last three years, and i love it but if theres one thing i cant stand, its the kids in the sport who think because they ride twins they're hardcore skiiers and deem themselves fit to pass judgement on every other group of skiiers on the hill. ive never met a racer whos talked shit abuot park skiing and i raced for ten years. loose the attitude kiddies.
 
not all racers are like that, but alot of the older ones seem like it. if i was somewhere with a day ticket (so as not to lose my season pass), and they were training, id definitely just join into there sperm line and see how i could do.
 
whatever, i think they are each thier own entities and neither one is better than the other and i think thats the view most people who have raced have of freestyle. live and let live
 
yeah they always cut off people, and when they have those temporary races with the sticks, they make huge ruts in the snow and on the trials. all the ones i sat with on a chair are losers, they say dude all the time, more than snowboarders. and they think there all cool in their tight spandex
 
Racers arent that bad. I was and still am one and everyday after racing i grab my twin tips and go to the park with my other racer friends. i still race caues its awsome going away to different moutains every other weekend for races, and because i get to ski every weekend with my friends, who wouldnt want to. We do make fun of people that cant ski all the time but who doesnt, but everyone on my team has respect for freestyle skiiers, cause ether they do it or wish they could cause they dont have to balls to try. we do cut the line but who wouldnt when its 30 mins long and you know all the lifties and they dont give a shit. im sure if you could you would cut the lines too...
 
seriously stop being pussies bougth of you, frestyle and racers. You guys just trash talk eachother when ur both good at ur own disapline or both. YOu guy are dumb just because a majority of people are assholes dosent mean everyone is an asshole i have meet asses from both disiplines. Grow up, Jesus Christ.
